Whiplash. Help.

Hi friends!
I was in a car wreck over a month ago and I sustained some whiplash. It's not an extreme case but it still hasn't gone away. It definitely comes and goes. I keep thinking it's gone and it's okay for me to lift weights again...and then after I lift I am in the same pain in the exact same spot.
Has anyone else dealt with this? I am seeing a chiropractor and a massage therapist. I don't like going to the MD for stuff like this because they tend to suggest temporary fixes like pain meds or steroid injections. Chiropractic has worked for me in the past.
I am just so frustrated. Just when I think it's completely gone, I get home from a long day at school and I am in agony.
Any solutions for the pain or helping it heal quicker?
Thanks, guys.

I was just rear-ended earlier this week... Still stiff and achey, and only able to do half days at work. I'm wanting to add at least walking back to my daily routine, as I felt I was just beginning to make exercise a habit. I understand you posted this a few months ago, but I was wondering if you have any suggestions or tips to pass along? I'm still resting a lot, on muscle relaxants and pain killers to help me sleep at night, and I'm working with a chiropractor daily. I'd really appreciate your advice.0
