Tell me about the clothes you are letting go of!

Today I a wearing my favorite red shirt. I love red, and this one, though stained has been my friend for a long time. It is silk and rayon from Talbot's. I stained it some time ago and have been wearing it for garden work, but ya know what? IT'S TOO BIG! and I am having to let it go. I am sure there is another great red top out there for me---in several sizes smaller!. Tell me about the clothes that you are letting go of because they are too big! And Kiss them good-bye!

I started this journey last March 10th - almost a year ago! Yay! But, before I did I purchased a whole wardrobe of warm weather clothing for the Spring and summer and ended up having to give all of them away before I could use them! And I have to say, I have given away sizes from 20 and 2X to 14 and XL - very happily along the way!! I also discovered shopping at thrift shops, ebay, and Goodwill and Saver's (the Epilepsy Foundation stores). So many great clothes and wonderful labels at discount prices. I shop now for size 12s and hope to give those away someday!! But my favorite thing that I had to give away were a white pair of boyfriend jeans from J. Jill that I loved and only wore a few times - then they started looking wayyyyy too baggy!!

I started on 3/12/12, almost a year for me as well.
I was a tight 24W, I just purchased 1 new pair of jeans and 1 pair of cords size 10, and they fit.
I have clothes packed up, but just can not seem to bring them to Goodwill. I am pretty sure I will not need them again, but do not want to jinx myself maybe. I can not explain my reluctance to part with them.

I bought new a new pair of jeans a few months ago and they are so baggy I cannot wear them any longer. Most of my clothing does not fit. I went to a few thrift stores last month and found new fitness clothes to replace the ones that were drowning me.

Since I know things will be continuing to change with the last ten pounds left to go, my plan is to keep picking up clothing at thrift stores to maintain a minimal wardrobe until summer, then reevalulate.

I wore a 4xl polo shirt to the gym yesterday. It looked like a dress so it has to go!!!

This might sound silly but I am starting to give up my elastic waist pants because I can now wear my jeans!!! Even my son was shocked I was wearing jeans yesterday...he thought that was the greatest thing. I will still keep my sweats around until the end of cold weather but they will not be a part of my daily wardrobe

EVERYTHING!! YAY haha - seriously, my weight gain began when I started overeating during my FIRST pregnancy 6 years ago. Over the course of 4 pregnancies, I gained more and more. Now, in my closet is a bunch of way too big "in between" clothes, a ton of maternity clothes (low moment - going BACK to the maternity store after my last daughter was born last April and buying more shirts and elastic waist pants cause I still had a pregnant shaped body!!) As I move forward, i'm conservatively buying key pieces to carry me through, but I honestly have NOTHING in my former size AND I officially am the thinnest I've been since getting pregnant 6 years ago! So, anything you see me wear these days is new! :)

Can't wait to officially donate the LAST of my maternity clothes! :)

Oh - another thing that's cool, while cleaning out my closet last time and bringing stuff to the good will, I neglected to search through my PJ's drawer, thinking it's all elastic waist band, comfy style stuff and should last me a lot longer - NOT TRUE!! lol my comfy lounge pants are WAY too big now too!!
