Protein Powders - I don't like chalk!

I'm thinking I need to start using some protein powder. I need the supplement. I've never tried ANY before.
I know some are going to push Shakeology. I don't want it. It's just not in my budget.
I've looked into Body Factory Bodyfuel..
I eyeballed Trader Joe's whey protein but I'm scared to spend the money to end up licking chalkboard erasers.
So what's your favorite? Full endorsements welcome!

I use Body Fortress Whey Protein. I prefer the vanilla over the chocolate, but that's just personal preference. I had originally bought it as a smoothie additive, but now drink it minus the smoothie.
When you mix 1 scoop with 1 cup skim milk, it kinda reminds me of a melted McDonald's vanilla milkshake. NOT AT ALL chalky.0 -
I use Gold Standard 100% Whey (chocolate or vanilla are the only flavors I've tried). I get it at the Vitamin Shoppe (it's probably sold in other places too). It's not chalky at all and I think they have a very generous return policy if you don't like it.

Hi!
I def do recommend shakeology. If you get on a Home Direct oder you will get free shipping.
But I totally know what you mean regaring prices, specially now a days . I'm been using Designer Whey protein in chocolate and vanilla flavor and they are both great. I get them at GNC or I saw them at Trader Joes too. I do totally recommend you try mixing them with almond milk. I swear its like a treat instead of feeling like something I gotta drink cause its healthy.0 -

I second YogaRunner's choice. Optimum Nutrition's - Gold Standard 100% Whey mixes quite well and comes in a variety of flavors. So far I've only tried the Mocha Cappuccino, and I must admit it tastes quite delish!0 -
If you want to try Trader Joe's, they have a return policy. I talked to the guy in the store about what to get, decided on Hemp Protein Powder and he told me to bring it back if I didn't like it. I hated it because it never fully dissolved and was gritty. I got a full refund with no questions asked. So if you want to try Trader Joe's protein powder, give it a try.0

I drink Designer Whey in Vanilla - sold at Trader Joe's and a couple other local stores. I mix it with 6 ounces of no sugar added fruit/veggie juice. Yummy!0

Yum...EAS Vanilla protein powder mixed w/just a bit of yogurt0

I like Spiru-tien protien powders. There are like 20 flavors. My fav is chocolate peanutbutter swirl....followed by the banana and tangerine (which tastes like milk after froot loops have been in it!).0

Dymatize elite - Taste great, and no sugars, not chalky.
Chocolate - mix with chocolate soy milk, 1/2 banana and ice, blend.
Orange powder - mix with orange juice, couple strawberries, ice, blend.
Both taste very good.
I also have banana flavour that I'm waiting to open up.0 -
I have yet to find one I like the taste of (powder wise). Costco has a protein drink that I love. Premier Nutrition. If you don't have a Costco membership, you can order directly from their website. It tastes like Yoohoo.0

I like the GNC 100% whey protien powder in vanilla.
My favorite way to make it is
1 cup nonfat milk
1 tbls instant coffee
2 splenda packets
a dash of cinnamon
1 tbls semi sweet mini chocolate chips.
Ice
it blends up to taste just like a java chip frapp from Starbucks.0 -
I like the Designer Whey Protein......I like the Vanilla and Chocolate. Vanilla I use as an additive to smoothies, but the Chocolate I like to blend with Almond milk and some ice. Taste like a milkshake. Its like having a really "bad" for you treat!0

I will third Optimum Nutrition whey protein it is cheap, tastes good and comes in a variety of flavors. Chocolate Mint, Chocolate, Vannila, Cookies and Cream, Smores, Strawberry, Banana and a whole bunch more.0
