Duration vs frequency?

Which would you say was more important with exercise - how often you do it or how long you do it for? For example, would it be better to do a 20min run 5 times a week or a 40min run 3 times a week?

It depends on what your goals are.

Either one, taken to an extreme value, will not give good results ((1) 7-hour workout per week vs (14) 1/2-hour workouts) per week)

    Depends on goals and intensity.

ie, running 20 minutes at 80% intensity and running 40 minutes at 50% intensity...etc.

Otherwise, same intensity, whatever accumulates the most time total?

Makes sense! Shorter workouts are usually more intense, but longer workouts mean you'd be working out for more time overall. Goals are the usual~fitness & weight loss.

So going super intense for 5 seconds one a month is enough?
