My husband and I have been trying now for a baby on and off. Im not terribly overweight but still complications. Will eating healthy increase my chances? Its hard to think after trying for a year eating a few more vegtables will change anything.

Losing a few pounds is supposed to help fertility. Having a balanced diet and taking a multi-vitamin everyday is supposed to help as well....at least this is what I'm told.
On the second part of your post: if it's been a year with no luck, you might want to have his fertility and your fertility checked just to be sure. Your Gyn/OB should be able to do this. I would try there before going to a fertility specialist and spending the big bucks.
Best of luck !0 -
I have been told that it is important for you AND your husband to eat healthy to increase your chances. Eating more green leafy veggies can increase your naturally occuring folic acid intake which has been known to increase fertility. Caffeine is a definite no. Your weight could be a factor even if you are not overweight because your metabolism, hypothalmus, and thyroid can get out of whack but not maintaining a healthy diet.0

This is the whole reason I'm getting in shape and losing weight. I have PCOS so it's x2 harder if you are over weight. Best of luck!0

I am proof that it will definitely help. Seven years ago I tried to get pregnant and struggled for two years. After trying for two years, with the help of a fertility specialist, I got pregnant. My daughter is no five. I suffered through two miscarriages and was encourage to lose weight because my hormone levels were out of whack and because I wasn't having regular periods. At my healthiest, my oldest daughter was 10 months old. I surprisingly got exciting news that I was pregnant. I couldn't believe it. After two years of heartache and struggle, I got pregnant without any assistance. I truly think being my lowest weight and being healthy was the reason for me getting pregnant. My daughters are four and five right now, and my weight is back to being up and down. Last summer I suffered another miscarriage and I was at my highest weight. I am not sure if I am going to have another child, and I truly think that things happen for a reason. I am not bitter because I have two beautiful and healthy children. I do think that being at a healthy weight is crucial for pregnancy.0
