Thinking about using Herbalife shake as a breakfast or lunch replacement. Do you use it? What do you think?
Thanks!

I think you could eat real food for the same calories and save a lot of money.0

I did the whole Herbalife thing years ago in my 20's for about 7 months. I did lose 30 pounds, and enjoyed the shakes and powdered tea at the time. BUT...at this point in life, with the knowledge I've acquired, a healthy whole food breakfast or lunch would be advisable. That crap costs too much anyway...:) Make a BIG smoothie, or a BIG homemade veggie juice...have that as a "meal replacement" instead. Super filling. Good luck!0

Didn't the guy who started Herbalife...die of heart failure? Hearsay...don't quote me on that...0

I did it for a few weeks last year - didn't lose any weight, can make up smoothies using fruit and juices/ milk etc on your own and eat 'real' food. Found it expensive as well. My colleague has been doing it for months and not lost much...
Like anything I suppose if you follow it, you will lose - it has to work for you. The one thing it does do that I found is it takes the stress out of thinking about what to it, smoothie for lunch and breakfast and healthy dinner so I did think about food less.0 -
I was on it for about 3 months. Cost me an arm and a leg and I didn't lose 1kg and not even 1cm anywhere! Total waste of money (for me at least!)0

It's been under constant investigation for fraud and operation of a sham pyramid scheme:

That sounds about right...does sooooooo not surprise me. Ugh.0 -
I wouldn't use it. There's a better product on the market called Shakeology which i use. Herbalife is more expensive and contains less nutrients.
And as for the "you can easily make your own smoothies" argument... yeah, been there done that but the fact of the matter is I'm lazy in the kitchen and want a quick, nutritious solution FAST.0 -
My husband I bought one tub as it was convent to have for breakfast as we have a long and early commute. It was expensive and didn't work for us.
Bought a set of Whey that has protein/low gi carbs for a fraction of the price to mi in with our own homemade shakes instead.0 -

Frozen fruit, splash of liquid...perhaps even some of that "shake" powder or protein supplement if you so choose, blend, drink. 60 seconds? I'd have to say, it takes about as long to whip up a smoothie...as it does to make a shake. Not really much difference!0 -
I read the ingredients on the jar of tea concentrate, and I found that it contains guarana, which is a concentrated form of caffiene. I try to avoid products that contain guarana, ma huang, ephedra, kola, etc. They are all just another name for caffiene, and they make me jittery and give me heart palpitations.
Herbalife is also crazy expensive. I can buy groceries with that money, and food tastes better too.0 -
i love herbalife0

Im a new Herbalife distributor and I have been using Herbalife shakes for about a week. I havent tried their other products yet
I drink a shake for lunch - but not as a meal replacement. I drink it along side a small meal (300 calories or less) & I usually drink a shake after my healthy "colorful" dinner to curb my sweet tooth at night.
I had to do my own version of Herbalife because I wasn't eating enough calories with their recommendation of just 2 shakes per day + one colorful dinner. I still eat close to 1300-1500 calories per day (Shake calories included) which is ideal for me
Before starting herbalife I was eating 2000+ calories a day & not mindful of my food choices...
The shakes help me eat healthier & do make you feel full!! Sometimes they make me a lil gassy & bloated (side effects?) I imagine?
Im drinking the shakes to kick start my weight loss - but will not be able to drink shakes long term. Id rather eat healthy meals Plus the side effects for me are kind of bothersome
Good luck!0
