But, I love beer!

I have been SO incredibly motivated during the week. I work out, eat healthy, and stick to my routine. But when the weekend comes around, I tend to get side tracked and I gain ALL of the weight I lost that week. I go out with my friends on the weekends and drink but I shouldn't gain ALL my weight back, should I? I mean, we eat a healthy meal before we go out, and I end up dancing the whole night which is great exercise. And I used to drink beer when I would go out but I recently switched to vodka and tonic. Please help! I have a trip to my home town in April, and I cant go back looking like a whale!

Could be that the weight loss is water loss and you gain it all back up on the weekend. As you lose more weight, you will get a buzz quicker and one shot of bourbon whiskey at room temperature in a heavy set glass would do the trick.0

Is that a current picture of you? Because whale is not a term I'd use to describe you and I honestly don't know where you're going to lose 30 more lbs from.
ETA: I looked at your diary and your logging is inconsistent. Also, there are quite a few days that you're coming in under 900 calories consumed. Try logging consistently and meeting the number you're supposed to hit and then see what happens.0 -
Is your surplus during the weekend negating your whole deficit from the week?0

ON MONDAYS I HATE BEER////
just the thought of a beer today makes me want to hurl the beets up that i just ate.
In fact, on MONDAYS, i think i am going to quit drinking for good
HELL,. that will never happen tho.
I just cannot IMAGINE a BEER trickling down my throat right now.
sigh..............
BEER, YUK.0 -

i love beer too.
on the weekends, you might have to try and exerct a little more self-control. you already do well during the week, and don't want to negate that. you say you have good healthy meals before going out, so thats a good step in the right direction. exercising and creating a bit of a deficit (but not too much!!) can be a way to negate all that beer. you can also "bank" unused calories from thursday and friday for saturday night, but i wouldn't use more than 200 total.
but honestly, if you're binge drinking on weekends, that is going to hurt more then it helps.
also, i looked at your food diary... 1200 is probably not the best amount of calories for you. look into your BMR and TDEE to figure out what is a good range for you to eat.0 -
No, that is definitely not a recent picture. That is from the last time I dropped 40 pounds. I have gained about 25 pounds since that picture. Its just a great motivation picture for me. I usually don't log on every single day because iam not always near a computer and don't have a smart phone, so I can't simply download the app. I'm going to try logging on everyday for this week to see how it works. And yes, I know iam under my daily caloric goal. Some days I just dont eat as much as I should. I dont know if it's a mental thing, or if iam just not hungry... Ughhh. Weight loss can be so difficult0

Just a thought . . . but tonic has a lot of calories in it. It has an average of 125 for 12 ounces. I used to drink vodka and tonic but changed to vodka and club soda with a slice of lemon or lime. Maybe you should switch to club soda! Hope this helps! Good luck . . . you look fantastic already!0

Unless it's sugar-free tonic, you are better off with beer.0

Oh man...who doesn't love beer :P0

I love my beer too; I switched to miller 64….64 calories a beer. It takes some getting used to but that’s all I drink now.0

Could exercise more during the week to compensate for your weekend binges. Just a thought!0

lol Well, I do that too. It definitely speeds up my metabolism, and Iam more focused when I smoke. But then again, I still love my drinks on the weekends!0

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! :laugh:0

And I posted a more recent picture of me just so you guys can get a better idea of how much weight i've gained. It's still not a "full body" because iam leaning forward, but you'll get the idea.0

Try mixing it with Pink Lemonade Crystal Light!0

I also have problems during the weekends with my beer consummation. I have been trying to take baby steps to limit my intake. No beer before 5pm. This weekend I will add the rule of no beer after 9pm. Or maybe none on Sundays. Either way try little steps to cutting back on the weekends so your hard work during the week sticks.0

Sadly, I have really limited myself on beers and wine. Just part of the choice to get back in shape. I still have a few here and there, but no more tippin' cans all day at the lake.
Beer still doesn't taste as good as being in shape feels.0 -
Yeah tonic is not low calorie... seltzer and vodka is more calorie friendly. Or I have switched to Jack and diet Ginger, if Im not just drinking the Jack straight.0

This is so true! Once upon a time I could still party all weekend AND lose weight. I wish it was like that now!0

If we are talking about oceanic creatures…. I would say you’re a feeder fish… not a whale.

You just aren't drinking the right beer then! (I joke, I kid)0 -
Even beer lovers don't have to drink beer every weekend. There are other drinks.0
