Hello everyone! I am a 36 year old mother of 4, soon to be grandma of 1 in June. I currently weigh 168lbs and am 5'4". Thus past summer I had my gall bladder removed and was put on Pristiq. Since then, I gained almost 20 lbs, which is very upsetting. The summer of 2011, I weighed 135 lbs, which I want to be at again. All the women in my family are over weight, my sister weighs almost 300lbs. I cannot and will not let my self do thrat....but I never thought I would be where I am now... so I am desperate for help and putting myself and story out there...
I have been trying to do my ab lounge and push ups in the morning, and even joined the gym. my biggest problem is when I get off work ( I am a teacher) I am exhausted and have no energy. I just want to have a few drinks (jd and diet coke) and relax, especially after I have made dinner, heard about my college and teen daughters drama, and helped my six year old with homework. I want energy and motivation to go to the gym..... please help!!
anyone out there in my situation, or is extremely awesome to get others motivated... please let's beat this together !

I really feel for you! That schedule sounds super busy and anyone with children knows that they really do take first priority! Can you do an early morning workout before school? I have been doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and have seriously fallen in love. 20 minutes a day and in 20 days I am down a total of 6 inches!! I have a 2.5 year old daughter that I stay home with and I let her do it with me when she wants (I feel like on these days I burn an extra 300 calories by laughing!). I can also do it during her naptime, or after she goes to bed. Keep your positive attitude! You CAN do it. I hated buying size 14 jeans. It was the summer after my daughter was born. I nearly wept on the dressing room floor. Two years later I was still in those size 14's. That was one of my huge motivators to get me to change my eating habits and get to working out!! You CAN do this!!0

And on a sidenote, lady you are gorgeous!! You look so young!! I wouldnt have guessed you were 36!! You look like you are in your early 30's to me!! Not that 36 is old AT ALL! I am 33 and I still feel like I am in my early 20's most days! lol0

Grandma? You look 20! I *hate* you...lol. Just kidding. Welcome, you can do this!0

I'm edging into a 14 in the opposite direction from a 22 at my highest. If I can do it, you can too.
Once the good habits start, you'll not live without them. And you'll not be 300 pounds because you're aware of where you want to be at a size 14, not a 24/26/28/ whatever. Good luck!0 -
Welcome! I also started MFP after having bought size 14 pants. I had bought my first pair after my daughter was born in May 2011. I joined MFP at the end of May the next year. I'm now in 8s, and feeling so much better!
Good luck, and if you need support feel free to add me as a friend! And I agree with everyone else, you look amazing and I would have guessed you to be much younger!0 -
I just wanted to say you guys are awesome! I am so glad I decided yo do this!0
