My staple lately is an d'anjou pear topped with chunky peanut butter and mini choc chips. The lot of it's under 300 cals and soo filling.
  • Cheeses strings are the bomb :) Full of protein but low in cal :) 50 cal for each and 7 g of protein ;) choose the light one ;)

A piece of lowfat string cheese with apple slices.

3 Mediterranean apricot and 11 raw almonds = 130 cals.

Greek yogurt (or Siggi's Icelandic) with 1/2 cup of just about any fruit in it.

1/2 an Ezekial cinnamon raisin English muffin with peanut butter.

Newman's Organic Spelt pretzels with hummus.

Celery with peanut butter or Lite Laughing Cow cheese.

    Luna Fiber bars.

Beanitos black bean or pinto bean chips with salsa.

I like cottage cheese with cinnamon and a little Torani Vanilla Sugar Free Syrup or Splenda. Sometimes I also chop up an apple or pear to put in it, and sometimes some crushed almonds (or a combo of all).

I also really love Sugar Snap Peas or red, yellow and orange peppers.

Today a coworker brought chips and homemade salsa to share, and I ended up eating some salsa with my celery sticks, which was really good (and far healthier than chips).

I also like to eat string cheese with almonds.
  • frozen banana......when I want to feel like I've had ice cream, I slice up a banana (reg or frozen), sprinkle a few mini choc chips and top with vanilla yogurt or a squirt of whipped cream.
  • I've done this, too. Very tasty and satisfying.

i make little flapjacks out of protein powder and eggs and schmear on about 1 tbsp of peanut butter (about 1/2 a regular serving) or strained unsweetened greek yogurt. mmmmmmm

i also do a half and half blend of peanut butter and tahini (sesame paste) to cut fat. use that on celery sticks instead of straight peanut butter.

I'm not a huge snacker but my new favorite is like a fruit/yogurt parfit. I just mix together sliced bananas, blackberries, sliced strawberries and one plain vanilla yogurt (I like danon light & fit). So good. I also like toast with a little peanut butter and sometimes add sliced banana. :)
  • My favorites healthy snacks are:
    1) Oranges
    2) Mixed Nuts (almonds, walnuts, peanuts)
    3) Pineapple slices
    4) And I love vanilla Karums...but thats more of a once in a while treat :p
  • Some great ideas in here - thanks everyone!
  • This is my new favourite - just discovered it..!

Heat slices of apple sprinkled with cinnamon, in a bowl in the microwave for 3 minutes.
Tastes like hot apple pie, but super healthy and sooo yummy!

something worth trying!! :) thank u!

Sliced apple (skin intact) with a sprinkle of sea salt (half a twist of the salt grinder). It saved me from passing out after my workout last Sat.

Just discovered this one last night, steamed edamame with Hidden Valley ranch seasoning mixed in. 5 calories for half a tsp. Only used 1.5 tsp. Great snack!

    Homemade fruit salad
    made with following:-

    Ripe dark plums
    White plums
    Strawberries
Passionfruit pulp ( i use tinned when out of season)
Pears ( i use tinned in juice if not ripe)
Apricots (again tinned in juice if not in season)
    Rock Melon
Mango - tinned and fresh sliced

I always have a big tub of this in my fridge - made every weekend

1 cup - around 110 calories plus 2 desertspoons of full fat rich and creamy yoghurt ( if its a snack enjoy it)

I also have this most mornings on top of my cereal and this keeps me good for the morning

    Enjoy.....
