How long does it take to get out of "storage" mode?

I call it storage opposed to starvation because come on... ;-)

After much internal (and external) debate, I have decided to increase my calories from 1200 (net 600-700) to 1520 and eat back my exercise calories, as well as increasing my protein & drinking more milk (blah).

I understand that it takes a while for your body to realize that you are going to continue feeding it, so it is okay for it to let go of the fat. My pants are tighter, so I think I have gained a little; but haven't gotten on the scale (promised a friend that I wouldn't for a month)

My question is to those who have increased their calories & eventually started seeing results; how long did it take you?

Thanks!

The advice is usually to give it 4-8 weeks to start really seeing results, it's worth it, I promise :flowerforyou:

I've lost all my weight eating 1500-1700 calories (and more when I exercise!). I'd give it probably 2 months or so to see how your body is faring with more calories? I know when I tried to start out at 1300ish I was grumpy and low energy. It was funny, after I upped it to 1500 (and now around 1700), every 2 or 3 months I'd suddenly notice a jump in my energy levels. When I play sports now I feel like I react faster, and can stay active for longer. It's pretty great. Enjoy being able to eat more! :)
