Do Ice tea and coffee count as water?

I don't count anything with caffeine or artificial sweetener
but I know there is some debate on that... my reasoning is that your body doesn't process it the same way as pure water and actually can make you retain more fluids. I would count water, as water and count coffee, as coffee, etc... Even when I splurge and drink Diet 7up, I count it as such.

Just my personal experience, but my doctor last week said "no." However, he also said I could have as much unsweetened tea or plain coffee as I liked, but I still had to get an additional 8 glasses of water. He did say you could add citrus juice to the water though.0

Yes! In fact, if you add lime juice or lemon juice with a little bit of baking soda it will alkalize the water and change the ph level of the water. A higher ph level is GREAT for your body!0
