Hi there.... I have just read your profile and I found it a bit spooky because I see myself...30 years ago

You are 27 now and I am 57 but at the same age I was 5'3 .... weighing about the same ... I was a stay at home mum with 3 sons under 4 ... and I made a stab at losing some weight... and then i made another effort... then i tried again.... i had another son.... so i thought i would try and lose my baby fat... then i went on a diet..... tried the cabbage soup diet... joined a slimming club.... went on a strict diet.... tried the latest fads... sadly, the internet and MFP hadn't even been invented.... video calls were only on sci fi films.... the first computer i ever encountered was in an enormous cabinet that had to be cranked up using a cassette tape and a plastic disc about 10 inches in diameter!

Fast forward to last April / May time and the world had left me behind.... my fault, not the world's.... I had reached 314 lbs..... totally ashamed of my profile photo, even tho i had already lost 28lbs by then... of course, i'm still not happy with yesterdays picture at 212lbs... but by the end of this year i intend to feel like photobombing every time i see someone with a camera!!... there are going to be so many strangers looking at their pics and saying who the heLL is that skinny old bag behind us? in front of us? sitting on grandad's knee?? i have already bought some clothes to wear over next christmas and i have every intention of growing even older disgracefully!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I am trying to say is, feel free to add me as a friend, but don't be me... don't leave it till you are 58 .......... DO IT NOW!!!!!!!!

    Hi, Jennifer

Try to remember that every morning is a new day. If you screwed up yesterday, acknowledge it and move forward. If you do this, you will lose weight and achieve your goals. Your major opponents? "It doesn't matter anymore, so I might as well... (fill in the blank)."

When you feel down, go for a walk. Look around. See what a beautiful world we live in....and you're part of what makes it beautiful. As the poem, Desiderata, says, "You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should."

    Peace,

    Tom
