edited September 2024 in Introduce Yourself
so I am supposed to Introduce myself, here it goes......

I started myfitnesspal when I got my bridesmaid dress in for a wedding I am in in July and it wouldn't zip! I had a major reality check and found the myfitnesspal app on my iphone. I love this app and it was even better that I could also manage it online.

I am a serial dieter and exerciser and I always end up giving up....NOT THIS TIME!

I am a 5'8", 29 year old woman and I weigh about 186 lbs. I began tracking food, weight and exercise on April 28th and as of today I have lost 9 lbs.

My typical week consists of:

S - Elliptical for 60 min.
M - Yoga for 60 min and elliptical for 60 min.
T - Spinning for 45 min
W- Weight lifting for 60 min. and elliptical for 60 min.
TR- Elliptical for 60 min.
F - DAY OFF
S- Elliptical for 60 min or spinning for 45 (if I get up early enough) - Sometimes DAY OFF

I am trying to eat right and keep exercising regularly. I am really excitied when I see the scale going down but I know I will hit a plateau and hopefully it won't set me back.

I am trying to get to the 140 lb mark before I go to Jamaica for my Best Friends wedding in November!

Any tips from anyone would be helpful!

Starting weight : 195lbs
Right now: 186lbs
GOAL: 140lbs

Total lost: 9lbs

Well welcome, you are doing great so far! I too have been dreading a plateau and I plan to try zig zagging. Have you seen others talk about that on here?

You can definitely get down to the 140 that you need by November. That gives you 5 months at a healthy 7.2 lbs per month. 2 lbs per week weight loss is healthy so you can definitely do this. Your workout regimen looks fantastic. As long as you stick to the healthy eating I can definitely see that you are on the right track! Zig zagging is a great way to get over a plateau. I have been doing that for the last week and its slowly starting to get me over my plateau. The only thing you need to remember is not to give up. My plateau has lasted me 2 months! And I've still stuck with it! I know what you mean about it setting you back. It has done that to me before, but just keep your chin up and it will happen for you. Zig zagging is really fantastic for plateaus. You'll find out a lot about it if you read some of the posts on here. GOOD LUCK!

You guys are great! Thanks for the encouraging words!!!

It's very hard not to "give-up" or "slack" when your not seeing results on the scale. I hate that damn thing :) I would rather judge by how my favorite pair of jeans are fitting.

Good luck to all of you as well!

This is the first post I have read so I need to read up on this zig-zagging.
