"Jogging" about 2 mph vs walking

If I had to cover a quarter of a mile, I could do it faster just by walking fast than I would by jogging at a comfortable pace. But, will jogging at that pace help me increase my stamina or help me be able to run faster and longer? That is what my goal is.

Definetly start running (and stop calling it jogging- don't downplay your effort!). I started running last year so I understand how hard it is. I also could walk fast then I could run. But you have to start somewhere and until you start you won't improve. So run for along as you can then walk for a minute or two to recover. Then repeat. Forget about time and shoot for a distance. Then as you get better you will notice that it will take less and less time. But keep pushing yourself- as if you need to walk or if it would just be easier.

    YOU CAN DO IT!!
