    My arm.

No seriously, after I work out, the thought of eating is a mixed dilemma for me in that I'm afraid of taking on calories, but I know I need to if I didn't eat beforehand.

I do Bikram Yoga and for a quick recovery afterward I drink either Coconut Water or Emergen-C and have some fruit. Then I wait about an hour and have a full meal.

Nothing unless it's meal time. Stay hydrated and you'll be fine.

I am anxious to see how people reply to this question. I do my work out at night after dinner. i also do Zumba and burn a ton of calories, but am afraid to eat them back afterward since it is almost 9 oclock at night. I feel if I dont eat some of them back then I have eaten two few calories for the day. I have 1400 calories for the day and typically burn 600-700 doing Zumba (according to my HRM). Should you eat after your work out, especially if it is in the evening.
  • i drink lots of water all day and throughtout classes im starvin when i leave zumba

A Gatorade and a Snickers ice cream bar - seriously. It gives me the sugar spike I need to drive home so I can really eat when my appetite returns. That is when I go for protein.
  • i have been drinking an EAS AdvantEDGE® Carb Control™ Ready-to-Drink after its only 110 cals and 17 grams of protein
  • This morning it was a can of tuna with celery a bit of low cal may and lettuce. Often it's an oz of nuts because it's easy... I need the fuel to keep going :)

I drink I protein smoothie that consists of Vanilla Whey protein, 1/2 banana, raspberries & bluberries. I'll drink this to hold me over while I cook a normal dinner. It takes the edge off the hunger. Aprox 230 calories with 27grams of Protein.

If I'm really hungry I'll eat a small snack of cheese and crackers or fruit and nuts. If I'm not hungry I just stick with water. Sometimes dehydration symptoms can present the same as hunger.

water and possibly a protein shake. Though I often take that before to give it time to be in my bloodstream post workout when I'm going to need it.
  • Whatever your choice may be protein is definitely what you need, whether it be low fat yogurt, chicken, nuts, hard boiled egg, etc. I try and add a little bit of carbs in there somewhere but not too much. Over eating after a hard workout is easy to indulge some times.

I go with a single serving of plain greek yogurt. Only 80 or so calories, and a ton of protein for muscle recovery.

This. My meal plan for the day is my meal plan for the day. I don't vary it because I worked out. That was factored into the plan.

I eat 2-3 oz of chicken breast and maybe half a medium sweet potato or a little less. then an hour or 90 minutes later I have my next scheduled meal. it works great for me and I am not ravenous at my next meal.
  • i get out of zumba at 830p i cant eat another meal at that time
