What can I eat?

On Friday we are going out to an all you can eat Indian restaurant for husband's 30th birthday. Now I do like Indian food, but I am not a big portion eater, even before trying to eat healthy I could only manage one plate.

My question is though, what sorts of foods can I eat that won't upset my new healthy eating too much? I don't want to binge on really bad food and feel like rubbish afterwards (physically, not mentally)

I would usually eat chicken Tikka Marsala, Pilau rice, bombay potatoes, and possibly another curry (not too hot)

Tikka masala may have cream. I'd go for just chicken tikka with boiled ( not pilau) rice and no bread- or bread and no rice. I think Bombay potato isn't too bad- relatively. It depends on how it's cooked but lots of indian restaurants drown their food in ghee ( clarified butter). Watch the poppadoms and chutney as this can add loads of calories too. Put one lot on your plate and don't keep going back for more- eat slowly.

Plan by eating light the rest of the day ( don't arrive starving though), plan and track what you will eat in advance and try to do extra exercise the day before and after.
