I work in IT. There is a noticeable amount of churn, but that is part of the industry. Going on 5 years, my current job is the longest I have worked at one company in quite a while, though my job function has changed 3 times. The majority of the people in my department have been there since I started. There seems to be something of a split - one segment which is relatively stable, and another segment where they just don't like or can't handle the job, or are chasing more dollars.

I work for 911, and have a very high turnover rate due to the high stress, and demands of the job. In the 7 years I've been here, I have seen so many people come and go. Now I'm the training coordinator, and am hoping to help prepare the new hires before they get on the phones or start dispatching, so they are aware of the stress, and give them ways to help handle it.
Hubby is a firefighter/paramedic in a violent city.

I'm a Data Analyst in the NHS, low turnover rates for non-healthcare professionals. Saying that I'm looking at changing career and becoming a healthcare professional as I'm fed up reporting stats and want to start doing something to change them!!

I'm a auto designer. I designed auto show cars for years, everything from the 1st Aztec. Yuck to the latest Camero and G6
Fun job. Lots of glamour once a year.
I do wedding and portrait photography on the side, It's my retirement extra cash

I work in I.T. as well for a hospital. While the I.T department is pretty stable I do notice a high turn over with the nurse's especially in the Med-Surg department coming in and getting out after about a year. I found out that they are leaving for other departments where the ratio is 1:1, etc. In our Med-Surg one told me that they go 1:6 when it should be 1:5. Pretty crazy. What department do you work in?
I work in long term care- aka nursing home.
I can have up to 25 patients a shift.
We do "team" nursing as opposed to "primary" nursing like they do in the hospital, so I have the help of nursing assistants.
I only work part time so I think that makes it bearable.
But, you need to have decent management.
A bully manager makes an already difficult job miserable.0 -

I'm a scheduler for a very fast Urology clinic. Turnover here isn't so bad in the back office but the MAs that work in the back (I am a Registered Medical Assistant but I work in scheduling) turns over every couple of months. My job is high-stress and there's only two of us, so our jobs are pretty secure. We see about 80-100 patients a day.0

ditto on that I'm in 911 and I've been here 2 yrs. Pay is decent I have no intentions of leaving (granted I'm only 22). There is a good portion of people who have been here for 4+yrs but there is also a LOT of "new" hires. I think the new hires are due to us being short handed.
A lot of people would like to transfer out though if given the chance (we have a transfer freeze). As for the agency (employer) as a whole, low turnover rate.0 -

I am a graphic designer for a large format digital printing company (I design billboards, store displays, event signing, etc.). I love my company. I started out as a project manager, but they cut my accounts for restructuring and had to let me go. But as soon as the designer position opened up a few months later, they called and asked me to come back. I've been here for 4 years now. Our company has an extremely low turn-over, and usually if someone leaves, they come back within a year. Most of the people I work with have been here for at least 10 years. I've been working as a contract designer for a medical communication boards company for the past three years as well. That work is probably the most rewarding.0

work in a bank, the management / new things departmend. its ok, but its gettin boring. hmmm, since we are really growin the past few years we just get new employees and the ones that are are shifting positions.0

I am currently a domestic engineer & loving my job as i answer to my hubby & 3 lovely children BUT before kids i worked as a medical assistant in a 2 doctor family practice. turn over was rare as we were treated fair. for the most part we all got along. benifits and hours were good. when i quit my mom took my place. when I go back today, 15 yrs later, to visit the same ladies are still working there.0

Its a hard life but someone has to do it, my wife also works with me, so does my daughters and mother, its a real family business0 -
aircraft mechanic been with my company almost 6yrs. pretty low turnover rate for employees as we're a union shop but the foremen/managers have a very high turnover rate.0

Haha I've got 3 (sort of). I have a 40-hour gig with Chase Mortgage in the bankruptcy division; I’m a wedding minister with sole prop status; and I’m a pre-dental student working on getting into dental school. As you have probably read in the news my bank job is a little bit volatile at the moment0

I work in marketing for a healthcare software company, and the turnover is not too high, and it's quite nice to know that there are lots of people who have worked there for over 30 years. It's definitely got a 'family feel' to it and somewhere I see myself now for the long term which is comforting for me from a job security perspective. It's nice to have at least one part of my life sorted for now!!0

Salon Owner / Hair Dresser here, i work alone now, but in the past yrs YES, i worked for other companies about 12 yrs, Hair Dressers seem to be pretty inconsistent, when it comes to the Job Place, Blows my mind how they jump from Place to Place, Leaving their Clientele . No Way, I am Walking away from 85 grand a year.0
