Just wanted to take a quick moment and say hello... I just started on MFP based on the recommendation of a friend who has been using it and loving it.
I used to do Weight Watchers, but got tired of paying for the service. Don't get me wrong, it was great... I just have a limited amount of discretionary income these days, so I figured I'd try this free site instead. I'm not used to counting calories, WW focused on fat, protein and carbs, so this may take some getting used to. But I am determined to get back down to goal weight and stay there.
I am definitely a foodie, so I'm hoping that this site helps me see what I'm eating and how much as well as motivates me to get out and run so that I see only green numbers at the end of the day.
That's the goal, anyway. I am training for two 1/2 marathons. I ran these races last year and did horribly because I didn't train. So, this summer the goal is to do the same races again and show them who's boss by sticking to my training schedule. I want to be a runner... that's also the goal.
So, that's me in a nutshell. I'm excited to take part in this community and the support you've all shown me already has been great. Looking forward to many "green" days.

I also used to do WW online and recently discovered this free site. I have to say, I like it just as well if not better and it's free! YAY!0
