Food/ Diet Help Please

I recently raised my calories from an unhealthy 1,000-1,200 to about 1,600. I started consistently being around the 1600 mark on the 23rd of this month. I also started the 30 day shred 9 days ago. Before the 30DS I was using the elliptical at the gym for about a week and a half. I was feeling slimmer, and firmer, but yesterday and today I have been feeling like I put on a few pounds. My arms and legs do not feel as tight as they did and my belly looks a bit bloated also.

I am wondering if this may be a temporary side effect from raising my calories, or maybe from water retention due to working out, or both? I just want to make sure I am doing things right. I am being patient, but it is a bit discouraging that it looks as though I have taken a step back.

I figure I should be waiting a few more weeks to let my body adjust to increasing my calories...Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it last?

Any advice is welcome. My diary is open. Thanks in advance :)

I should also mention that my exercise is calculated into my daily caloric intake, which is why I don't usually eat them back.

So you raised them 5 days ago? You're likely to experience some scale weight gain while you adjust. I'd give it at least a month to work. You may also be retaining water from exercise which can make you feel like you're taking a step back. Try to relax and be patient. Log accurately and give it some time.
