after getting off comedin did you get itchy head at night?
no it's not lice i keep checking my hair but at night i keep getting itchy head and i can't sleep. was thinking it could be a reaction from getting off the blood thinner? has anyone else experiencing this??

    I don't have any experience to help with this...but have you tried googling the side effects to see what's listed?

    You need t talk to your primary care physician and let them know about the itching.

    I currently take Coumadin for A-fib. I have not had any reactions to taking it. As I said I am still on it. My doctor told me A-fib does not go away once it happens. I will never be able to be off of it ( or a type of blood thinner) as blood clots are a concern when the top half of your heart does not pump efficiently. If you don't mind my asking, why are you able to discontinue its use?

    I agree, you need to talk with your doctor about this. Coumadin is not a drug to mess around with. I lost a loved one in November 2011 because of this medication. Please, see your doctor.

    I currently take this drug. If you don't mind my asking, how did it contribute to the death of your loved one?

    Make sure you take EXACTLY the amount prescribed, on schedule. We aren't exactly sure what happened, but her blood became too thin and she literally bled to death. If you're seeing more than one doctor, make sure they are all up-to-date on what meds you're taking. If you miss a dose, don't double up on the next dose....call your doctor. Really, I can't stress this enough. It needs to be taken exactly as prescribed.

    that's why I stopped the Coumadin, that almost happened to me as well. Thank God I listened to my body and insisted them to check my level in the emergency room. then they had me stay in bed and not to get up only to go to the bathroom and i needed a nurse to go with me, because i was told that even if i banged my toe lightly i will start bleeding to death.

    I got off the meds by myself because I don't have insurance and i had originally told that i only had to take this medicine for one year and it was going to 2 years. and just to see the neurologist for 20 mins had cost me close to $200.

    my circumstances has not been easy where i can go around this. Coumadin is very dangerous and I am feeling so much better off of them. i got off of them in Sept. I was just thinking that maybe now it's when my body has gotten rid of all of it in my body. that's why i asked if anyone has experienced this.

    just be very careful with the Coumadin, best of luck. I took Coumadin because i have a ripped artery(was explained to me) so the body heals itself but the doctors wanted to make sure i don't get a clot from it. and how they found this so called tore artery was i had a mild stroke while driving. i'm in a situation where no matter which way i go it can be dangerous for me.

    If i keep taking the drug it is not good and not recommended. if i stop taking it i can also have a stroke. my situation at this very moment not well for me to go to a doctor, i have no coverage. and going to a health department they don't have neurologist available. so i have to do the best thing. Pray and believe God to lead me which way to go, because this situation is out of my control i'm not able to seem to find a solution to this one. thank you all for reading.

    Did you mean Coumadin? If so, go talk to your physician, not people online. You are on this med for a reason so don't play around with listening to guesses online.

    Yes I meant Coumadin, and yes you are so right. right now i'm not able to afford to see a doctor and get the mri done as they want me to do to make sure i can get off the meds. thank you for your concern and advise. you are completely right.

    Thank you for your response. I am tested every 2 weeks to make sure my levels are where they are supposed to be. I have never missed a dose, but can see where you wouldn't want to double up if you did. I do watch carefully whenever handling knives or working outside with tools, which is a pain. I knicked myself shaving once and it took a long time for the bleeding to stop, so it is very important to follow the dosage instructions. Thanks again.
