Question about proetin drinks and breakfast

I have been using muscle milk as my creamer in my coffee. Does this count as my breakfast if I don't eat anything else? What I mean, does it still help start up my metabolism for the day?

  • It counts as a breakfast, sure. Not the best choice but life isn't always neat and orderly is it? If you eat some carbs with your dinner or after dinner then you should be ok with skipping breakfast as far as energy but you may find yourself hungry earlier than normal.

So if I add oatmeal to breakfast and still use the muscle milk with my coffee, would that be more beneficial? I sometimes do that, especially if Iam going to the gym in the morning, I just worry if I am consuming too many calories if I do both. (170 for the muscle milk and 160 for the oatmeal)

That is definitely not to many calories! You need calories, to fuel your body for the day! :)

It doesn't matter, as the whole "must eat breakfast to start up metabolism" is a load of crap. You're metabolism doesn't stop until you die.

I'm confused? Are you using a whole serving of musle milk in your coffee? I know, for me, I only use a couple of tablespoons of creamer for my coffee. Again, for me, I would not consider that breakfast. I think you should definitely included a serving of oatmeal. But that's just me.

    ^^This.

I do not eat breakfast on days I work out in the morning I may have a protein shake but my breakfast consists of 1 cup of black coffee and thats it.

OP I wouldn't worry too much about it, so long as you are eating enough through out the day the times etc don't matter. You do not need to rev up your metabolism you are not a car.

I guess that depends on which muscle is being milked.

Just adding another "^^This" post. I only eat once a day and at my lowest I was 15lbs underweight. Obviously that was quite small so now I'm bulking but what I'm saying is that it didn't hurt my weight loss. It actually helped my weight loss.
