HELP!!! in a food funk. Need to find a way out!

So for the last couple of days I have found my diet or my desire to stick to my diet has faltered a bit. Don't know if it is from the preTOM or what but I just seem to want to eat and eat stuff not healthy for me. You know those times when you just want to say "screw the healthy and give me something super yummy but not so good for me". Yea that's where I am. However, my desire to work out hasnt faltered. Even when my trainer kicks my butt, I stick with it. I just need to get something to get back on my diet. I need to get out of this food funk I have succumb to and get back on track. Any suggestions for healthy replacements would be great. I have found I dont have the taste for just water anymore unless I am sweating from working out. Any ideas how to fix that as well?

you can replace the water with unsweetened tea or green tea--still counts! theres no calories.

I find that Pre-ToM, i crave sweets and salty hardcore, especially chocolate and bready things. I made some chocolate banana ice cream by throwing 2 frozen bananas and some chocolate whey protein in the blender--its soft-serve consistency and totally hits the spot!

That being said--you can have the bad-for-you-but-yummy things. Just make room for them in your day, and eat a reasonable amount instead of the whole ben and jerrys pint :)

I understand what you are going through, been there myself. Hang in there, remember why you started on this journey...for your health, your kids, etc.

As far as the water, I'm with you...unless I'm working out I can't drink straight water. But I buy things like Crystal Light singles (mostly I buy off brands), that are 5 calories each and put them in my water. That's the only way I can get it down, and now I find I love it! So maybe something like that will help.

I know that I can't bring stuff in the house that I can't eat, especially during my ToM. That's probably hard when you have kids though. I try to find other things to feed my 'chocolate' craving, like I might eat a Fiber One 90 calorie fudge brownie. Maybe not the healthiest, but better than a snickers bar, which was what I used to do. I also crave Italian food, but I've found recipes for 'healthier' versions, skinnytaste.com is where I've found a lot of good recipes. Every recipe I've tried has been very flavorful and filling, as well as healthy. So try to find new recipes for things you've never cooked before and challenge your taste buds, maybe that will help your food funk. Good luck!!
