So I had first set my "diet profile" to lightly active, but working out 6 days a week for 40 minutes each. I also only want to lose 1 pound a week. My fitness pal gave me 1300 calories to eat a day. I don't have to much trouble staying under those calories on an average day but I am worried that I may be consuming to low of calories, especially because I do not always log workouts or eat back my exercise calories.
I looked up my BMR and it is 1433. Now, this means that I burn that many calories everyday, even if I did nothing? So why is myfitnesspal saying I should eat 1300 calories?
Should I reset my profile to active so I get to eat 1400 calpories? Or should I log my workouts and eat back those cals.
Thanks.

For one, MFP strictly tells you how many calories to eat based on your goal loss per week, it does not limit it at BMR. In addition, it assumes that you will be logging and eating back all of your calories; that's how it works. You need to be accurate in your logging of exercise and eating back the calories. If that method doesn't work for you, you can always calculate your average TDEE (including exercise) and then eat 15% less than that. If you do an extra workout not accounted for in your TDEE, eat an extra 200 calories. If you miss a workout, skip 200 calories that day.0

Alright that makes sense. When I get my HRM I can more accurately log my calories burned so I can eat them back.0

How are you feeling? Do you have physical symptoms of hunger, that you actually need to eat more back? If I'm not hungry, I let my exercise calories come out of my fat stores. I don't eat them back.0

If your BMR is 1433, your sedentary TDEE is about 1720. Subtract 500 calories a day for 1 lb a week and you're at 1220 calories, and there's your goal.
Keep your calorie goal at 1250-1300, but eat back your exercise calories.0
