Month Long Binge

After starting P90X I can't seem to stay within my calorie range. Sometimes I'll eat 2200 calories in a single day. Usually my indulgences are healthy (grapes, Greek yogurt, vitatops), but lately they're becoming more sinister (tortilla chips, peanuts...lots of peanuts). I'm really ready to get back on the wagon and lose these last 10 pounds. But my concern is, how can I undo the damage this month has caused? And what's the best way to reprogram my mindset and eating habits?
FYI I'm 5'7 and currently 150lbs.

Your profile says that you are trying to lose 10 lbs, which means that you should be eating 1710 calories per day to lose weight. Reason being, with only 10 lbs to lose your body cannot really oxidize more than 0.5 lbs of bodyfat per week, so that is what you should be aiming to lose. If you lose more than that in a week, you are also losing lean body mass, which you don't want because that will make you look more flabby and less "toned" when the weight comes off.

So aim for 1710 per day. If you go over, no big deal. Reset the clock the next day. Try again.

If you haven't really noticed any significant weight gain in the past month, what damage have you caused if you were eating around your actual TDEE? Do as 1ConcreteGirl recommends and eat at a slight deficit.

Thanks for the suggestions...it's worth a shot!
  • I have what I call my 100 calorie lunch box. In it I have special K crispy bar., In a snack size zip lock bag I have general Mills fiber chocolate 80 calorie cereal for chocolate cravings, and (no salt) pistachios. Right now it's cold here in Michigan so, I can have a boil egg in there for my protein when I finish out at the gym.
