I had pizza today for the first time EVER. My kids have it now and then as a treat but I don't like cheese  I mentioned it to the Papa John's guy who said he would create one for me without cheese. So, we bought a large thin crust pizza (10 slices). He made 3 slices for me WITHOUT cheese. It was tomato and pizza sauce, he said. I enjoyed it

Anyway, I have no idea how many calories this would be and would like to log it (surprisingly not in the database). Thanks for your help

It depends on how much cheese they normally put on a pizza. A quarter cup serving of mozzarella cheese is about 80 calories. There's probably less than that on each slice. So maybe 100-200 calories less for all three slices?

Thanks. So, would you say that 200 calories each per pizza so 600 calories :noway: for the 3? I think I may have eaten my first and last pizza

Not to mention pizza is way high in sodium, which is not good.

And this makes a difference... why? Unless the OP is hypertensive, sodium isn't an issue. All it does for some people is make them retain a bit of water, which is easily counteracted by -- you guessed it -- drinking more water. Sodium is a vital nutrient, and is essential for proper brain and heart function, regulation of fluids, helps eliminate excess carbon dioxide in the body, prevents muscle cramps when working out.... the list goes on.

Feel free to enjoy your pizza again, OP. Some of us have it at *least* once a week, and haven't keeled over yet!

congrats on trying pizza! one of our summer time treats here is grilled pizza dough. no sauce or anything. dip it in salsa or whatever you like. i am almost certain i have logged that here without having to be too creative. then for the sauce, you should be able to eyeball a good estimate. seems like you have already logged it, and if it isn't the last time you have it, this might be a decent alternative.

    good luck.

Papa Johns nutrition per slice depending on size and base is on their website.. you would obviously have to estimate the cheese though :)
