A quick intro about who I am...

Greetings.

If you check out my profile you might get a little better idea who I am and what makes me tick. I have used the MFP app in the past and have had some success losing, but that has always seemed to be followed by adding the weight back on.

There comes times in life that a person needs to draw a line in the sand and make some hard life changing decisions...I pray that this is one of those times in my life. I am 48 years old and weigh over 300 lbs. It doesn't take a lot to understand that I am way overdue for life changes. I have a wonderful wife that I have been married to for 21 years and I want nothing more than to be married to her for another 21 years x2. I have two great sons and I know that I want to be around to see them marry and have children of their own.

All that said, I want, I need to make some earth shattering changes in my life. And so I am seeking out some committed friends to join me in this journey. I would love to partner with some of you all and I also pray that I could encourage you on your journey as well.

Please understand that I am a very committed Christian man, and I love the LORD Jesus Christ with all my heart, and because of that I will often times speak of my faith in this journey. If you are cool with that, then I would love to have you a part of "my team" and vise-versa.

Thanks for letting me ramble on and for considering encouraging one another here.

I was at 320 lbs in 2011 and while on a business trip to Germany was hiking up a rather steep grade to a castle and was so out of shape I had to stop and rest before I could complete the climb. I was also a heavy smoker, so between my obesity and smoking I was in terrible shape. This was one of hose moments for me. I went on an aggressive weight loss plan in May 2011 and dropped 112 lbs in 7 months. I was down to 208 in Dec 2011, but slowly gained back up to 240 lbs by Oct 2012 when I got a more ominous wake up call. I had to have double bypass surgery for cornary artery disease with 90% blockage in the "widow maker" left anterior descending artery, LAD, in October 2012 and am truly lucky to be alive. After getting this 2nd chance at life I quit smoking and have changed my lifestyle. I am eating healthy and exercising regularly in hopes of being around to see my grandchildren grow up. So yes, some of us need a louder wake up call than others. Lol.
