This is my first post here, even though I have been lurking forever. I just needed to share that after almost 6 months of P90x, and being a girl (not that it means anything :) )......

I did my first unassisted chin up yesterday!!!! I am so excited!!

Chin ups and pull ups were one of my main goals in doing p90x (and pushups lol). So I am very excited that I am almost all the way there! I was showing a friend how to do assisted pull ups and the progression to regular ones, and then hung down and said "I can't do these ones yet." When I went to pull myself up, I just kept going and going, until I was up over the bar!! I'm still on cloud nine!!
Yay for workout victories!!

Anyone else have an exercise victory they would like to share??

  • thats amazing. Mine came after three months of bootcamp. Ive never been able to cross the monkey bars ever! SO when i finally made it all the way there and back on adult sized monkey bars I was over the moon.

Congrats and keep up the good work!

That's great! I did P90X last year and I've done it some this year, but I still can't do a pull up. Of course, part of my problem is that I mainly use bands instead of a pull up bar, but I'd be super excited to be able to do one pull up. You should be really proud of yourself!

I know!! I have always had really weak arms, and was always the kid who couldn't even hang on the monkey bars without falling! I'm so incredibly excited, I can't even explain it. Now I have to go find some monkey bars to see if I can do them!!!

Congratulations! I've never, in my entire life, done a pull up!

Congrats! This was my origianl goal as well, about a year ago. And, like you, 6 months later (without P/90x, just working alot on lats, biceps, deltoids, and trapezius, and doing negatives), I was able to do an unassisted chinup! Now, I can do 2. 3 on a really good day, if I do it at the beginning of the workout.

    Awesome job!! Keep getting stronger!!

Chin ups and pull ups are one of my ultimate goals, lol. I can do half pushups now, maybe around 10 in a row. By half pushup, I mean not lowering chest/chin all the way to the ground, but at least until my elbows are at right angles.
  • congrats my goal is pull ups and inverted push ups

Way to go! I am a bit jealous but in a good way. My goal is to do a pull up as well and I've never been able to do one. I am convinced that when I finally am able to do 1 I will be able to increase that to 2 and on from there. It will get easier as I continue to lose the extra weight.

    Thanks for sharing with us!
