Way over protein target, way under fat target

Hi I just recently joined and have been tracking my food for about 3 weeks. I was looking back at my target vs. actuals and see that I am always way over my protein target and way under my fat target. I'm losing (slowly but surely), but didn't know if I should try to limit my protein intake and up my fat intake.

Any ideas or suggestions??

Thanks!

In my view fats are the enemy and protein is your friend. I am always over on my protein and keep my fats under if possible.

I'd say you're doing fine. Many people think that MFP's default setting for protein is on the low side and it's not a problem, or even good, to exceed it. Re fats, the consensus now seems to be that eating enough "good" fats is a good idea, but try to limit saturated fats. You could track saturated fat as well as calories, total fat, protein, carbs. It's saturated fat that's thought to raise cholesterol levels - at least that's what my doctor told me.

Edited to add - I also try to be under on fats like poster above

Teach me your ways??? I can't seem to get enough protein without going over fat.

Nothing wrong with lots of protein, especially if you're working out, but fat isn't the enemy either. If it suits you, you could try having protein that is a little /less/ lean, as fat is very important in your body as well. Glad to see that you're losing and good luck!

Thanks everyone! At least I know that I'm not sabotaging myself!! I guess I tend to eat a lot of chicken and turkey as well as egg beaters--all with lots of protein! I'm going to try to get a bit more "good" fats in by using a little, little bit of EVOO instead of Pam.'

Thanks again for your kind words and suggestions!!
