Breast Implants

Ok, so I am getting ready to have my first consultation for breast implants. I was just wondering if anyone has them and how the experience went. Has anyone had to have more than one surgery? How long did it take to recover from the surgery? Any problems with the implants?

Hi there - long post sorry!
I had breast implants 3 weeks ago so still in my recovery period. To be honest, I was expecting a lot more pain than i experienced (it was more discomfort than actual pain). My boobs feel pretty numb still at the moment, which is completely normal and if i'm honest, they look amazing even though they will probably take another couple of months to settle fully. I took 2 weeks off of work, which was definitely needed as you are quite restricted on how much you can do for the first few days, and I wasn't allowed a shower until the dressings came off after 9 days so you have to pretty much strip wash every day, which is not pleasant (i LOVE my daily showers) but bearable. Its almost imposible to wash your hair without help for the first 2 weeks, so you would definitely benefit from that amount of time off, for healing time and because i felt like i was not as clean as i normally would be, even though i washed body every day.
I think the pain etc depends on your placement. I had them placed over the muscle not under, which is a lot less painful. I think it depends on the size too and how much extra the skin has to stretch.
I would definitely recommend getting them done - its the best thing i've ever done. Bear in mind if you are trying to lose weight (I don't know if you are or not) then you gain 'weight' after the op, due to the general anaesthetic and the fact the pain medications make you constipated. Your digestive system basically shuts down for a couple of days and then has to catch back up. I actually looked about 4 months pregnant and 'weighed' an extra 10 lbs (only 1.5 lbs of which was implants) and that was just pure bloatedness and water weight. After about a week i was back to my normal everyday weight.
I am from the UK though, so not sure if things are different in US in terms of medications, receovery etc.
There is an amazing forum which i used religiously - its a UK one, but open to everyone and the girls are very open, honest and fabulous on it. They have asked and answered literally every question i ever wanted to know and put me at ease. You should log on and take a look - it explained everything i needs to know or was worried about and a million more things i hadn't thought to ask or would expect. - http://boobjobsupportforum.forumotion.co.uk

Hey
My closest GF had implants about a year ago
It was 10x worse than she expected..she had under the muscle which I've heard is the most painful
She took one week off from work but def needed more time and more help with the kids...she was pretty useless for almost a week and needed pain meds and meds to help her sleep
She had discomfort for a while...and to this day feels they are still a tad high
BUT everyone has a different experience and can tolerate pain diff.
