Problems with procrastination!

I lost 30 pounds about a year ago and six months later I had already gained the weight back. I went to college and very quickly gained 17 more pounds. I am the heaviest I have ever been and it was a shock when I finally looked at a scale and I am just very unhappy. I know what I have to do to lose the weight I am just having a hard time kick starting myself and it is so easy to just say, "I'll work out tomorrow" when thinking about everything else going on in my life. Any suggestions on how to stop this procrastination??

  • I'm a terrible procrastinator. Using therapy to address why I procrastinate has helped a lot - reading about procrastination has also helped.

I keep a schedule now, with checklists so I can feel the satisfaction of completing even the smallest tasks.

Try reading The Power of Habit and The Disorganized Mind. There are a lot of great books about habit and procrastination :)

I have a lot of trouble with that as well but I find that I actually get it done if I workout as soon as I get up in the morning. Don't even think about anything else, just throw on your clothes and get to it! Good luck! :)

I have another very good friend in Hawaii who has recently started using the site and she loves it.....I love it too....just have to keep using it consistently hahahahaha....maybe we can all help each other with accountability!!!! Good luck!

I am doing it right now.
I am sitting at work chewing my nails and thinking of what to cook for dinner instead of being productive.

Start small and the rest will follow.

Yes. Once you're really sick and tired of being sick and tired, you'll do it. Till then, you'll meander around. You have to make the decision to do it. Once you do, then procrastination is done.

Yeah...... tell your brain this is your body's business and to stay the hell out of it. What the heck kind of calories does thinking burn? What kind of muscles does it make stronger?

    none.

So why the heck are you listening to your brain instead of just getting up and proving that youve got personal integrity and you mean it when you say you want this.

procrastination is just being too scared to start or not wanting it enough.

So are you scared or do you not want it.
