Feeling Like Crap

It's been a week and a half and I can't seem to shake the last of the flu. I feel weak, irritable and get tired & out of breath easily.
The Dr keeps telling me to rest and drink fluids, but nothing seems to be working. I've not been to the gym in this time and my diet is messed up as I end up eating comfort food. Is there any remedies I can take? Anything which will help?

If it's been a week and a half, i would consider seeing another Dr. That is a pretty long time for the flu.0

The flu itself (as in runny nose, temperature etc.... seems to have gone) but the rest of it eg cough, weakness etc... is still here and doesnt seem to be getting better0

That's been running rampant in my neck of the woods. Several of the people I work with have had the lingering cough for weeks after the other symptoms have passed. Just do what you can and keep pushing through it.0

What I also suggest and what I do, is drink plenty of tea (i like a halls cough drop in it as well) and try to eat high protein foods. The protein will help aid the repair process and set your calories to maintenance. This way you are ensuring optimal nutrition when your body need to rebuild. Warm showers and motrin helps me too.0

the flu kicked my butt for a good 2 weeks. I'd continue to rest and make sure you're drinking some fluids.0

This. People at work keep getting the flu and their cough will last for weeks afterwards. I think it's just a bad one going around this year. I have been extra strict about not making out with my coworkers to avoid getting this beast. :laugh:0 -
I had those lingering symptoms for nearly 3 weeks after my flu went away. I eliminated outdoor running but continued my routine otherwise. The exercise actually mademe feel better.0

It sucks - a really nasty bug, for sure. I still have a bit of a cough and it's been a month for me. Hang in there, do the best you can with water & healthy foods, it helps. Don't push your workouts, walk or take it easier in whatever you do, and try to get good rest!0 -
Thanks all appreciate the advice0
