Help-People showing up on friends list I did not approve??

I wasn't sure what section to post this under. I have people showing up in my news feed and on my friends list I never saw or approved a friend request for and don't remember requesting these people. If I did request them, I never got an email saying someone approved it or a notification in MFP like I usually do. Has anyone had this problem? How can I fix it? Is there a way to view people I may have requested in the past?

    Are they commenting on other people's statuses or are you seeing their actual statuses?

    Also - they may have changed their username so you may not recognize it.

    I'm seeing their statuses. I thought that maybe they changed their username but I know my friends pretty good on here. I didn't recognize their wall.
