(oopppss...ran his butt off that is) Hello all. Rob and I have been running, however he is running a bit more than me. He does not wish to lose any more weight and is currently in the maintaining phase. He is having a hard time eating all of his calories. Do you fellow runners have any advise on what to feed this man other than pasta, nuts, banana's, oatmeal, protein shakes, peanut butter, etc. He just sent me a text stating that he has already logged in 1100 calories and still has 1700 to go!!! (He makes me sick...lol wish I could eat that much) He runs about 5-7 miles every other day and constantly stands or walks the rest of the day at work (Car Business). Please keep in mind that we do our cooking together (as we do MOST things together and that I wll have to eat the same.) Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance. Not sure if I needed to post this here or under food...Jill

I would suggest looking into the cooking light magazines or books, my mom makes them all the time and my dad loves them and I love going over there for dinner cause she always makes new stuff... You can just serve him a bigger portion than yourself plus the calories are always listed with the recipe. My friend and I made the falafel last night and it was sooo good, it was supposed to be 437 calories but I ate it without the pita so I figured about 350 or so... anyways that was a long explanation but good luck!

This is going to be vague, but a suggestion still. My husband, being a man, can eat way more than me and not gain a pound. Additionally, he has a food phobia, yes it does exist, so he only eats a VERY limited menu--ground beef, anything fried, chips, etc. All very unhealthy. What I have been able to do is make meals for us that I either add or substitute things for him or me. For example, if I make spaghetti, I will separate out a little sauce for my portion and then add the meat to his portion. For you, you could make a vegetable stir fry for you and then add some chicken or steak for him. That way you are not cooking two meals, but he is getting the extra calories he needs. He can add healthy snack during the day to increase his calories, too. String cheese, pretzels, laughing cow cheese and crackers, veggies and fruits, fruit smoothie, etc. Good luck...and I'm with you: I wish I could eat like my husband! Sad thing is, I do waaaay more cardio than him and work my butt off to lose half the weight he does!

TY all for your post! The beer post was actually funny because I am the beer drinker and he is the Vodka drinker. Even then, he has calories left lol. Anyway, thanks again for your time and support! Jill:heart:
