Feeling bummed!

I didn't do so hot this week. I lost 0 for the first time which makes me super bummed! I just felt constantly hungry and ate all my workout calories plus a little extra everyday. I am happy the scale didn't go up, but I need a boost to kick my weightloss into gear. I feel like I am losing my motivation. I eat tons of protein and lots of fruits and veggies so I really don't know what else to do to make me not be hungry all of the time. Also I seem to have a big problem with eating because I am bored.
Words of encouragement are appreciated. Thanks. xoxo

CassiD,
Your 60 lb loss is a huge example to your son. I am in the same boat with my daughter and she is finally motivated for us to do this together. I cannot tell you the motivation my daughter now provides me, just by watching her small victories.
I don't know how old your son is, but my daughter at 15, hit her breaking point of 231. Together we MAKE this a priority and the rewards we share for small victories are so much sweeter because they are earned.
You know as well as I, that if we don't help to change our kid's habits, they are doomed in today's society. As parents, the only way to help young kids and teens change habits, is to live it with them every step of the way, each day with the good, bad and all the things in between.
After 60 lbs, you've got this. Feel free to add me if you like.

Most important - don't give up and don't give in. Best thing is you know where you've 'gone wrong' this week and I bet if you stick to your calorie limits this coming week you'll see another loss on the scales. You've done so well so far! Re boredom: try some new foods, new recipes, focus on something other than what you're going to eat. Good luck!0

Sometimes our bodies just don't work with us! I had weeks just like this when I lost the first time, just need to get back at it!
It could also be your body saying that you ate way to few calories the last week and now it is trying to make up that gap?
One week of "UGH" is frustrating, but please don't let it stop you! You have come SO VERY FAR (think of it in bags of kitty litter and you will see what I mean). I find I snack when I am board as well - sugar free gum and water help out a lot to curb it.
Hang in there and next week should be better!

Don't be discouraged. Plateaus are normal. You're doing great!0

The body isn't set on a clock, so some weeks you'll drop a lot, some weeks nothing. It's usually about how it adds up monthly. You are doing the right thing and have proved that you know what you're doing. Continue with that.0

wow, this is EXACTLY how I'm feeling, and it scares the beejeebies out of me because I don't want to FAIL!! Maybe it was fate that I saw your post. Now, I'll read the advice everybody has given you and try to use some of it for myself!0

Don't beat yourself up over it...maybe you should just take a break for a few days, or a week, or try find a way to change things up with your food or exercise, so you're not feeling like you're stuck in the same old routine.
Congrats on the success so far...you've done amazing. Hang in there! :drinker:0 -

You are doing so well. This week you maintained.
Keep logging and loving yourself. You might even want to stop, step back for a minute and reflect upon how amazing you are right now! I would also suggest allowing yourself something delicious and "junky" once in a while. I like to log so I know I can eat a treat and it will still fit in my plan.0 -
Don't feel discouraged, it's only been one week! Try changing up your diet a bit, if you're eating the same foods every day, try a new recipe or snack. Same goes for the workout, if you're stuck in the same routine, try some new machines or different cardio.
I know you're not going to give up! Keep up the great work you've been doing. If you need a partner to workout with let me know! We'll try and set something up0 -

Thanks Meg Brown! You are the best. xoxox0 -
1. Motivation is not important and completely unnecessary. It's just the spoonful of sugar that makes the medicine go down. it is not the active ingredient.
2. You are the active ingredient in your life.
3. Congratulations! Thankfully, now you know that weight loss and progress will never be consistent - but you can be and that is what makes a difference.
4. This week was a practice week for maintenance. You will need these occasionally because you will switch to a lot more focus on nutrition as you get closer and closer to goal weight and then learning how to stay there.
5. this whole thing is a table, and a table has four legs. nutrition, strength training, cardio, and rest. no one leg is more important than than any other. Sometimes it helps to have one week a month where you are easy on one of these and harder on another leg. make sense? Set yourself up to win, not to disappoint yourself and fail.
6. What instead of motivation? Momentum. Build up momentum by being consistent that it will take an earthquake to slow your roll.
Got this? Now run with it.0
