Weight Watchers plus with MFP?

Good morning all! I'm wondering if anyone here is using weight watchers in conjunction with MFP??
I started off with weight watchers. It gives me 26 points a day. I noticed I was tired A LOT! I didn't have energy to get through the day much less work out. So I jumped on here and started to figure my daily calories. I was lucky to break 1000 calories a day! Has anyone else noticed this?
I try to eat really healthy. That is one reason why I'm with Weight Watchers is that it pushes me to eat more fruits and veggies (since they are considered 0 points.) But I regularly go over my alloted points, just so that I can meet a decent calorie intake..
I'm just a little lost and not sure what to think/ do. Any thoughts/ personal stories?
Thanks!

Have you looked into the simply filling technique? That works well for me. You can switch back and forth if you want. I've never actually calculated the calories so I can't answer to that part of the question.0

I used to be on Weight Watchers...and I lost lots of weight...but I've nottived...as soon as I stop....I am gaining that weight back. Here, with MFP I am learnig to eat less, still satisfied and not deprived and I am not getting as hungry as with weight watchers. MFP works better for me.0

I've been on WW for over a year, and currently in my healthy weight range and at goal for WW. I love WW and get frustrated at the bashing it takes on a regular basis here on MFP since they are essentially the same thing, counting calories. I did find that when I dropped down to 26 points it was far to little for my body and I stopped losing weight briefly. I also noticed it was only around 1000 calories a day even with a lot of fruit and veggies, I needed to eat my Activity Points and a few Weekly Points to start losing weight again.
At this point because I'm really focusing on getting more protein, I like to get at least 100 grams per day, I'm finding that I'm running out of points earlier than I'm running out of calories on MFP and my fruit and veggie consumption is a bit down because they push the carbs up without much protein. This is frustrating me, but I will figure it out. It's all a trial and error process though, you just have to figure out what works best for your body at this time. Then it will change, and you will begin the trial and error process again.
Good luck on your weight loss journey!0 -
I'm a WW drop out but figured this thread may help you. You can track points and macros on MFP simultaneously.

I've been using MFP exclusively for a few weeks and with the link listed above I was able to look back and see where I went wrong.
I dropped out of WW because I wasn't losing any weight. I started MFP because I have more control over the components to facilitate my weight loss. This way, when I have questions I can get *real* answers. Along with my fitbit zip and MFP , I know what I'm really burning on a sedentary day or active one and can make adjustments accordingly if needed.
Good luck :flowerforyou:0 -
I am part of both although I don't write down my food with weight watchers but here instead. I do go to meetings and weigh in each week there though and it's been hugely beneficial for me.0

I am a WWonline fan.
I've been following WW online, since Septermber. I've lost 41 pounds on the program. I recently started at this site as well. Track on both. I have had the opposite experience as some of you. I usually run out of calories, before I run out of points. My points allowance is 26. Tracking here has been an eye -opener.0 -
I use weight watchers plus MFP. II go to the meeting for the support. I am never under my 26 point usually about 10 point over each day, but with MFP my net weight at the end of the day is below 1200 because of the exercise I do. I have cut out caffeine and lower by sodium intake and since doing so I don't feel as tired any more.0

Thank you all for your responses! I will check out the link hookilau.
Cappri, I hopw you didn't find that I was bashing WW. i think its an excelent program! I'm just frustrated by the low calorie intake if I stick to 26 points. I've only been at this for a few weeks though, so we'll see how it goes after a few months.
Thanks again everyone!0 -
I'm a former WW'er, had lots of success over the years with their online plan. First time through in 2008/2009 I lost almost 65 pounds. Gained a bunch of it back while settling into married life. Last year I lost 35 pounds, gained all of it back while settling into a sedentary job. I'm giving MFP a shot simply because I feel like it gives me more control over what I can eat. I loved WW for the most part, but it got to seem like a game to me over time...reducing serving size by a tiny amount to shave a point here or there. I wasn't doing myself any favors. I always felt very discouraged when I would see my daily point allowance drop, would freak out and then beat myself up when I would go over my dailies. I think MFP provides a more realistic and healthy view of what I'm eating.0
