Bubblicious Question...

I went to Walmart tonight and was really craving something chewy and fruity (I know, bad!), so instead of getting candy I opted for some gum. I entered it into my diary, but I'm wondering if anyone knows about the calories in gum, any gum. Do I get all the calories just from chewing it? Or should I swallow it to make it worth it?

The calories come from the sugar that dissolves in your mouth and you swallow.... not really sure if the gum part adds anything, but I've always been under the understanding that swallowing gum isn't particularly good for you.

(which is why I don't often chew it... I can't NOT swallow it!!!) :blushing:

The carlories are from when the sugars dissolve in your mouth from chewing it, as said above. Lol I will always remember when my mom would tell me not to swallow my gum because it would stay in your stomach for a very long time. But, I watched a show one time on the Food Network Channel and they did an experiment and asked doctors if it was really true if it took that long for gum to digest and in all reality it doesn't take that long, but it does take longer than normal food you eat everyday.

    Hope this Helps!
