My 31 year old son, who is a confirmed bachelor, commented the other day that he thinks he needs to find a woman and settle down. To which I replied, "Son, it's been my experience that THEY find us."

I'm sure other men have experienced exceptions to this but when I look back, I can't think of a single time when it wasn't true for me.

Guys....what has been YOUR EXPERIENCE?

    LOL...well "confirmed bachelor" is a term from my generation I guess. It simply meant that a guy has decided to remain single for the forseeable future.

    Well olDave, it most likely worked when we were young whipper-snappers, but as of late I've found you become missin in action, until such time they have chores to be done, like lifting, carrying, hauling and fixin, then they can find ya no matter how hard you hide.
    Just sayin between us old timers !!!

    LOL...well "confirmed bachelor" is a term from my generation I guess. It simply meant that a guy has decided to remain single for the forseeable future.

    In that case I'm a confirmed bachelorette

    It's odd, I have a 6y.o. daughter but being a mom doesn't make me feel tied down....the idea of a boyfriend makes me anxious

    There was no "question". I was just curious about other men's experience in this area.

    yup yup, that's for sure and when ya put them on all the pockets have been emptied. Thinkin OlDave better have a different story for his youngster !!!

    I never actively looked and was a confirmed bachelor until almost 30 when I met my wife. It isn't about control though. If you think it is you were probably the mean kid in kindergarten who didn't share crayons. lol.

    I get that part - what i was confused about is experience in what area? settling down? trying to settle down? or was it more about experience with dating in general - that women find men or the other way around? or was it a combination?

    i guess all i really want to know is: did i respond to the non-question question correctly?

    LOL...you gave us your experience and that's all I was looking for. YOUR experience in the "finding" part of a relationship is all I was looking for. Thanks.:smile:
