A little guidance?

Hi everyone, I'm an 18 year old female and have lost 44 pounds and have 9 left to go. Now is the time I am getting into uncharted territory and need a little reassurance! I am so close to where I want to be but I still have a bit of a lower belly pooch and some extra fat on my sides, I've lost it from everywhere else. I don't want a muscley abdomen or six-pack abs, just to look slim and trim and flat without a pocket of fat. Is diet and 60 minutes of interval cardio a day combined with squats, push-ups, and crunches sufficient to get me to where I want to be, or do I need to implement something else as well? Thank you!

Sorry if "bumping" is against the rules, but my thread seems to have floated back several pages without any responses :o

Honestly it sounds like you can keep doing what you are doing. It is a popular myth that using targeted excises (like crunches) will help you 'target' where you lose fat, but that is simply not the case so there really isn't a reason so change to abdomen exercises (other than building core strength which is never a bad thing).

Just keep on going with your awesome progress and you will be there in no time!
  • Sorry, I can't give specifics, because I haven't gotten their yet.

Do you belong to a gym? If so is there a trainer you can work with at your gym for specific training?

Another thing to look at is strength training excercises for your belly. I have an app on my android phone that I can pick which area of the body I want to work, and it shows me exercises that are for that area.

I haven't gotten to the place where I have just belly fat to think about. I'm still working toward that goal but some friends have gotten there. They were given 2 types of information. I am using the last portion because I have 75 lbs to lose before I have to worry about a layer of fat. Anyway, I have heard that you can do abdominal exercise along with increased cardio to decrease the belly fat. (Like Insanity) Also, people who are pregnant are told to keep their belly moisturized to make sure their skin stays elastic and can shrink back into place after birth and weight loss. So, moisturize the skin on your belly with a good oil (jojoba, coconut oil, or shea butter) so the elasticity returns. That's my 2 cents. Take it for what its worth.
