what's on your grocery list?

Options
Hey y'all! I'm using today as a prep day and will start living my new healthier lifestyle tomorrow. Just wondering what you never leave the grocery store without. I saw the recipe board and will head over there and check that out, but what does everyone do for snacks and stuff? Thanks!

    Oatmeal
Eggs (I eat mostly whites, so we go through a lot of eggs!)
    FF milk
    Greek Yogurt
Fresh berries (blueberries and strawberries are my favs)
Frozen veggies (I throw a bag in the microwave with just about every dinner, easy and convenient to get veggies in)
Ezekiel tortillas (SO good toasted and filled with turkey, lettuce, tomato, a little cheese and some avocado...great lunch!)
    LF String Cheese
Natural Peanut Butter and/or Almond Butter
Individual snack packs of almonds or cashews (Trader Joe's sells these, already portioned)
    Chicken breasts (boneless/skinless)
    Ground turkey
    Ground chicken
    Tuna (packed in water)
    Salmon
Salad fixings (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, celery, mushrooms, etc)
Soyrizo (soy chorizo...SO good scrambled into egg whites!)
Almond milk (I cook my oatmeal with it)

I guess that's about it for my every-week staples. :)

    Eggs and Milk, always!
Cereal [Cheerios or just bran flakes because I'm super boring] for easy mornings, or just plain oatmeal
Granola Bars [I like the nature's valley ones that are just basic oats and honey]
Unsalted Almonds and sometimes trail mix stuff like dried soybeans, raisins, craisins and seeds [pumpkin, sunflower, et cetera]
Red or Green leaf or Romaine lettuce, spinach and/or cabbage for salad base [whatever is cheap that week]
Carrots, celery, some kind of local seasonal veggie like peppers, jicima, avocados, cucumbers, or whatever else sounds good in a salad.
Whole chickens, pork roast and other big meaty stuff that goes good in a crock pot
Ground turkey or lean beef, which I usually freeze
whole beans, canned or dry, mixed varieties.
Brown Rice, dry and not instant
Bananas, Oranges, apples and other fruits in season [but usually bananas]

Also stock up on frozen veggies because they usually don't have much of a nutritional loss and are ready as quickly as fresh stuff, like green beans, peas, carrots, asparagus, and other such items. Freezers are great for this and make for way better meals than just frozen dinners.

I usually avoid bread because I've stopped eating sandwiches and want to eat less processed grains, but I go with natural peanut butter and jam as much as possible. Basically avoiding anything with HFCS and palm oil. I've also stopped buying alcohol and chips and cookies and candy and other snacky foods, mostly because my roommates just end up eating them, but also because it makes me plan my meals and just eat better instead of faster. Do what you like and don't cut out favorites, I say.

Diet Green Tea (I buy bottled Green Tea, because its a way for me to still have a convenient tasty drink without grabbing a soda.)
    Oranges
    Grapes
    Spinach
    Cauliflower
    Eggs
A new spice every two weeks =p
    Oats
And the decided meat for the week.

I'm a college student, I unfortunately don't get as much as I should, but I make do.

English muffins (when they're on sale)
Salmon - depends on how much it is
Chicken - if I have none at home
