Smoking.
Same here... But I feel sooooo much better. my husband still smokes0 -
Gardetto's and Chex Mix. Extra calories or not, I have no self-control...I'll eat the whole bag in one sitting.
I strongly believe that Satan toasts those rye chips in his front lawn... they are sinfully good.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one! lol0 -
I pretty much gave up Mtn Dew...I wanted to eat my calories, not drink them! I still have it occasionally as a treat.0
-
Nothing! As long as I control portions and track everything I can have whatever I want in moderation.0
-
I didn't give up anything. I just pay closer attention to amounts. There are things that I don't eat as much of or as often but when I want it, I get it.0

I gave up Chorizo hash for lent. To make sure I'm actually giving something up I've gone to the restaurant that serves it a few times and ordered something else. It's hard because it's so fricken yummy and I want it. It's been good because I've at least tried a few other things.
As far as what I've given up during my efforts to get fit...
I no longer put potato chips inside my tuna fish sandwiches. Everything else I have in moderation or I add extra workout time to make sure the whatever doesn't wreck my efforts. Oh, and the two times I had five guys in the last 14 months I got a single patty burger instead of the double patty burger. Still cheese and bacon and grilled onions but only the one patty.
For lent I gave up soda and sweets. But for life, I won't give up anything for good because then I will feel deprieved. i just dont eat everything all day long and not do any activity!0 -
I gave up all sugary drinks. (e.g., soda, alcohol, juice, etc.)
All I drink is water and nothing else.0 -
Chips - I can't eat them in moderation. It's like they're my gateway drug, flipping the Bad Eating switch in my brain, and it takes a ton of willpower to turn that switch off. Better not to have them at all.0

I haven't given up anything. There are some things I have less of, but I still find ways to enjoy them. Because I enjoy them.

Stupid girls
They miss you too.
Sincerely,
Smart Women
p.s. I miss sitting on my butt, eating Doritos straight out of the bag, drinking coke and watching tv.0 -
OP, if you like Mountain Dew (which tastes remarkably like urine), why give it up? Anything in moderation.
Well, if she's anything like me, there is no moderation with Mt. Dew; it's all or nothing.0 -
Self Denial0
-
Coffee, diet soda, bacon *sad panda*, fast food, eating at restaurants, pastries, chips, refined sugar... I basically gave up on living.0
-
Blue Bell Vanilla Home Made Ice Cream *sigh*0
-
Eating crap foods (except on very rare occasion), and sitting on my butt all the time.0

exactly! i can moderate, any other kind, but give me 1 mt dew, ill drink the whole 12 pack, in 1 day. Better to have loved and lost than to never loved at all lol0 -
Nothing entirely...but I limit a lot of stuff I used to consume regularly and in mass quantities:
- Soda (used to be 3-6 (12 Oz) per day...now maybe one 12 Oz every couple weeks or so)
- Chili Cheese Dogs at the Dog House down town (about 1,300-1,500 calorie lunch there once per week...now, maybe once per month when I take my kiddo to the zoo)
- Lay's potato chips (easily 1 large bag every couple days...now, maybe one serving per week)
- New Mexican food (pretty much two to three times per week out at one of the gazillion NM restaurants here in ABQ, at about 1,600 calories a pop...now, about once per month)
- Chips and Salsa - Frequent lazy weekend lunch would be about 4 servings of chips and salsa with 1/4 Lb of cheddar and a pint of whole milk...now, a serving or so when we're out eating NM food)
- Cheese (I used to eat 1/4 Lb plus per day...now I have maybe 1/2 oz to and 1 Oz a couple times per week)
- Whole milk (actually have cut this out...used to drink 1/2 gallon whole milk per day...now about 8 Oz 1% per day)0 -
I gave up nothing except everything at once. No need. I have mostly given up wine/alcohol on weekdays....0

ribs and ice cream0
