anyone else think if their full they are going to gain?

I hate the feeling of being full. It gives me so much guilt afterwards. Even if i got full on carrots or something healthy it still feels like i did something wrong. I always am in my goals, i eat a little under 1200 a day. But, i still feel wrong. I have lost about 10 pounds so far (I don't log it on here, i post it on my fridge so i can remember). So if i eat a big healthy meal i think i'm going to gain it all back. Anybody else feel this way or am i just crazy? lol

No honey :ohwell: Even though you don't give stats (height, weight, age, current weight & goal weight) I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but to feel guilty about eating 1200 calories is probably irrational.

Don't get me wrong, but I am aiming to not feel my insides anymore (if that makes any sense  ) but feeling guilty about eating a nutritious vegetable doesn't quite sound right, :flowerforyou:

I used to feel like this in the beggining but then I noticed that when you get stuffed with food with lots of calories, usually the feeling of being too full continues up to 3 hours. Getting stuffed on tomatoes and carrots leaves you emty in only one.
BTW, 'big healthy' can mean a lot of different things.

What I'm worried about is that your diet is very low on calories. One or two weeks won't kill you but keeping on with that small quantity will compromise your ability to do your workouts. Just my opinion though.

Not crazy, but not entirely healthy. When you start doing that, you're turning your hunger into an enemy, your body into something you have to fight with. You are making yourself feel bad for one of it's core survival functions - eating. You may lose weight this way, but it'll screw up your thinking so much that when you DO have a bad day, you're going to spiral out of control with guilt and self-hate.

Day by day, start thinking to yourself (out loud and at length if you have to) that you love your body enough to feed it properly. Hunger is not the enemy. It's a signal that you are alive and that you have things you need to do (like eating) to stay alive.

It sounds crazy to me. The one thing that I refuse to do is to let myself be hungry. I try to make sure that I eat things that keep me full. I do this on purpose because being hungry sucks. In fact, it's downright uncomfortable. I will even eat an extra 100 or so calories if need be on some days. It might not be a bad idea to talk to a professional about this issue. It isn't psychologically healthy to feel guilty about eating.
  • Thanks for all that replied :) I guess its just something i have to get over lol I also didn't post stats which may have helped...I am 5'7 , 170lbs, 19 and a male . I like the feeling of being hungry, when i'm hungry i don't feel like eating. But, thats probably not a good thing lol

I hate being hungry. I will eat a celery stick or carrot stick if I start getting hungry too far away from mealtime.

I do that sometimes. I ate a big lunch today so I plan to eat a lighter dinner to make up for it. I don't feel guilty for the big lunch now since I know I have a plan to stay with my 1400 calorie goal for the day.

If you're eating healthy stuff, try not to beat yourself up about it. If you get stuffed on unhealthy things, just try to make better choices with the rest of your meals and snacks for the day.
