Baby Fat

My baby is now 8 months and when I weighed myself last week I was sad, depressed, and angry that not only did I gain but I am pretty much the same size I was before I gave birth (175). My goal is to get back to my prepregger weight of 130. Its hard because I sit at a desk all day then go home and barely have time or energy to workout for 30 mins. I need motivation to lose the weight by July. I started taking diet pills to help curb my appitite and it is helping. I am just so depressed that I weigh so much. I am 5'4" and feel like a blob. Thats my story

I know where you are coming from. I have a 5 year old son and my second son is 14 months old. I have been a member for a while and lost weight before I become pregnant with my second son. Then gained some and plus back after he was born. I have started my journey again and it is hard. But you can do it. With a great support system you will find you will get your sexy back. If you have a close freind that could stick to the diet with you and go to the gym that really helps motivate you also. Good luck on your journey. You can do it, because I have. Feel free to add me.

My baby's is almost NINE and I'm still working on it... Do what you can, when you can, focus on eating healthy foods. Be kind to yourself and give yourself time. You can do this, it just may take longer than you anticipate.

Note: I didn't start working on losing the weight until this Christmas, so don't think I've been trying for 9 years.

I know, just a few months ago, I used to look in the mirror and hate what I saw. I had a baby, gained weight, had another baby, gained more weight and didn't know how to get back to a normal weight. Every time I tried portion control, I would starve and quit.

The thing I hated most was that my body had created and birthed these two beautiful girls and it felt like a betrayal of them to hate myself - especially when they think I'm beautiful.

Then my youngest turned a year old and I found My Fitness Pal. MFP helped me understand how much I have to eat in order to stay healthy and strong (kids don't burn calories, they build your muscles - I am 15 pounds of MUSCLE over where I started, in addition to the fat). I'm also still breastfeeding the baby, so that was another few hundred calories. My allowance is over 2100 calories A DAY - that's a lot of food - plus I'm eating back all of my exercise calories and I'm steadily losing weight. That was a big part of my problem.

Other than that, I agree with quiksylver: love yourself, be good to yourself, focus on healthy eating and sensible calorie goals.

I gotta figure out how to get rid of that.. but it is possible.. with lots of time, patience and love in yourself..

Hi, I am in the same boat!! I had my youngest 5 months ago. The day before I had him I was 187lbs now down to about 153/154lbs. I had both by c-section (my oldest is 2 years old) and getting this baby weight is sooo hard. Like others have said, your body gave you a beautiful child. I would like to get at least to my pre-preggo weight of 137lbs, but my goal is 125lbs!!

Remember you carried a child 10 months long... a little time and a little effort and you will be there before you know it!! Good luck!!
  • If it makes you feel any better, I weighed 145 when I had my one year old, two weeks after having her I weighed 125 with a little baby gut and now because I have progesterone deficiency I'm rapidly gaining weight and I'm up to 160 pounds. 160 pounds with a spare tire gut.

Anyway you can fit in exercise during lunch? Is your diary public? I can look at it and give you some help on that.

First of all, don't feel bad about yourself! You just had a beautiful baby some months ago. Now you are looking to lose the weight. Well girlfriend, you came to the right place! You can def do it, and 175-130 is not that hard!! Work on your diet, then take the little one out for walks or jogs. The last thing you want is to be filled with negativity and depression because then you won't be able to find the energy to do it. You can do this!! Start today :)

I understand! Two kids, 40+ hour job sitting at a desk, daycare pick-up, rush home, make dinner, play with kids, the whole bedtime routine, exhaustion!

Fit in what breaks you can. Can you get up and walk at work every hour for a few minutes? Walk up and down some stairs. Do sink push-ups every time you go to the bathroom.

Mainly Watch that food intake! Make them the best calories you can. If you're breastfeeding be sure you get in Enough calories.

It didn't come on over night, it won't come off every night. Set a Plan, and Stick to it as much as you can.

I'm 5'4" too, got to my highest weight ever about 2 years ago and then found out I was pregnant...then I gained a lot of weight, had baby, got back to my pre-baby weight (which was high for me anyway) and found out I was preggo again! I'm hoping not to gain so much this pregnancy and being able to breastfeed...we'll see, but I totally understand where you're coming from! I had a trainer who told me to make one mini-change a week...to make one small goal and go for it, (e.g. drink 12 cups of water a day, work out 10 more minutes a day, etc). You can do it!

I really admire the 8-5er who are still trying to get their fitness in. When i have weeks like that, i try to wake up early and workout or get it in during lunch and have even done all three of getting in 30 mintues after i get home. The 8-5 does not seem conduce to weight loss especially for me because i sometimes need a pick me up (caffiene) to get staterted and late in the day will make you stay up all night. If you have kids you have left all day, you feel guilty leaving then once again to work out. So it is hard. I had to just cut corners to get the weight off and worked 6-2 4 days a week so i had sometime to exercise and enjoy my child. I tried to do IF but don't know if everyone can fit that into their lives. Pregnant with #2 and the hardest part is finding time to exercise, so i find myself watching my food intake like a hawk. If i ate to my hunger i would be huge but i try to drink some water first and wait a while. Good luck, try momintofitness or some typr of 60 or 90 day program where everything is planned out for you. It worked for me knowing i had to do 30,40, 50 mintues of exercise a day.
