Firstly hi to everyone on the board, this is my first post having used my fitness pal for the last 13 months. When I started dieting in November 2011 I weighed 21 stone 7 pounds. I had spent all of my adult life obese and had listened to many people say how unhealthy I was and needed to lose weight, for some reason none of this mattered, I didn't have the will power to stop eating junk food more did I really want to stop if I'm honest. I saw my doctor in the November 2011 and he told me that if I didn't do something about my weight I wouldn't get to see my children grown up into adults, he said that I'd be lucky to see 40 I'm currently 31. So I set about losing weight , I started off on the weight watchers pro points diet it was good and worked but come the February of 2012 I didn't want to keep paying for something that really required discipline and a lot of it and a bit of guidance, my god found this app and was using it so I decided to drop weight watchers and give it ago and have never looked back. As with any dieting I have found some times very hard and have had a few off days but some how found the inner strength to carry on. I had to hit rock bottom before I could find the will to lose weight. I currently weigh 13 stone 10 pounds and have a goal weight of 12 stone so I still have a bit more weight to lose. But I wanted to post on here to let everyone know that my fitness pal does work but you have to have self discipline and determination. I hope this story about my weight loss will help some of you stick with your diets and keep going. It's ok to have an off day I learnt that if you have a bad day not to dwell on it. It's what you do the following day after your bad day that counts. Just remember that it's going to take a hell of a lot of food to stop you losing weight if its just the odd day that you break now and again. I'm Alex, male, 31

Good for you!!! For all us Canadians and Americans on the forum, a stone is roughly 14 pounds. So 21 stone would put him around 300 lbs. Incredible achievement! Be proud of yourself, and remember why you did it!
