Heya Everyone!,
I had an old MFP account to lose weight but stopped going on it (bad times). I now have this new one where my main goal is to get toned (whilst losing a tad bit more weight).
I wanna treat this similar to my fittieaccount on twitter. Add me if your going for the same goals and if your interested in what I mean by fittie account on twitter!!
So much inspiration!
Thanks!

Awesome! I'm in the same boat. I'm just nearing the end of losing weight and want to get toned and be in the best shape of my life? What are you doing for workouts?0

I am on the same path. I need to tone more than anything. Feel free to add. Open exercise and food log. Let's crush it!0

I do a range of things! I'm a big believer in never letting your body get used to a workout!
I enjoy HIIT training when I do cardio as I find it a bore and HIIT makes it go quicker and work better haha but then I do weights like kettlebells and deadlifting also to get my main muscles going
Its 70% diet though if you want abs (which is really tough )
I also did spinning today, that burns LOADS of calories and gets you real fit too!0 -
Yea Kettlebells!0

I'm the same...more interested in toning up and keeping my figure / being healthy! Would love to have friends with similar goals!0

One doesn't get "tone, toned or does toning". You can "tone up" the muscle, but what most are really looking for is muscle conditioning so it's firmer and more effective for physical activity.
It may be semantics to some, but "tone, toning, etc." to others is like saying "do the bendy arm thingies" instead of calling it a tricep extension. I believe correct terminology counts.
That said, lift heavy enough to do 6-8 reps on just about any exercise to "harden" up that muscle underneath and get stronger too without adding a lot of size.
