1200 Calories is way too much!

I've been using calorie counters for a couple years now and usually I can lose 1 pound a week if I only eat 800 calories a day. It sounds crazy but any more than that I either plateau or lose about a pound a month. I was wondering if there's any way to adjust my calorie count on here to below the preset 1,200.
PS - the lack of weight loss isn't from me being thin by any means so it's purely based on caloric intake. I'm about 40 pounds over what I was a year and a half ago and then i was still on the chubby side.

See: all the other threads where people claim that they 'need' to eat less than 1200 cals/day.
My opinion - 1200 cals is possibly not enough. Have a read around.0 -
I'm not trying to be snarky here..but - you've gained 40 pounds counting calories and eating 800 calories a day over the last year and 1/2??? if i understood that correctly, that's not working out so well for you.....please explain?0

No, it's not too much. either you're underestimating your calorie intake or you've SEVERELY depressed your metabolic rate. In either case you should ensure you're counting accurately AND be sure to increase your calories to at least 1200 (likely more).0

If that photo is of you, even taking into account the mirrored aspect, I suspect a bit of an eating disorder/body image issue here. At age 18, with a face and upper arms as thin as they are in that photo (you can see the curve of the shoulder and most of the upper arm), I refuse to believe that you have 47 actual pounds to lose like your ticker says.
Based on that exceptionally large weight loss goal based on how your body looks, and the fact that you think that you should only be eating 800 calories a day (and that you've apparently been using calorie tracking tools since you were 16, if 18 is your true age and not just fudged higher to be a member), that you may want to talk to a doctor about what's actually healthy for you to be doing in terms of eating and your weight.0 -

If you truly can't lose weight on more than 800 calories, you have destroyed your metabolism by undereating.
You will need to eat a healthy amount for quite a while for your metabolism to adjust, but it will be hard because the damage is done. I would consult a doctor, get some suggestions and maybe some help to have a truly healthy outlook on food.0 -

Sweety. Coming from a recovered anorexic, stop now. I know this blog is a reach out for help. I know that you know, what your doing is not okay. You gained weight because your body is in starvation mode. But those late night 'secret' binges, are still showing on the hips aren't they? I've been you. But not anymore. Be stronger..0

long term malnutrition is nothing to take lightly. it will cause you serious health problems, some of which may not be reversible.
as hard as it is in your mind to take the advice of internet strangers over the little voice you are hearing in your head telling you that you are alright, please ignore that little voice and listen to the internet strangers.
you should also see a doctor and have blood work done to be safe.0 -

No, your growing up, you will continue to gain "weight" just because your body is still developing, it will do this until like age 22+ Thats nature.0
