I have been following my calorie limit for about 2 months now and have lost a good amount of lbs, but today I really overdid it. It was my birthday so I decided to spoil myself and ended up eating 3000 calories today. Not only do I feel like throwing up but I feel physically ill. Will this impact my whole weight-loss progress or slow it down? Also, how can I recover from this and feel better physically and emotionally? I definitely will never eat that much again and I know that I should forgive myself and get back to my routine and diet, but are there any tips on how to keep the food I ate from turning into fat or something to make me feel better right now? I really feel sick to my stomach. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's just one day. You're allowed to indulge every now and then.
Just get back on track tomorrow. You'll be fine.0 -
one bad day won't make you fat, just like one good day doesn't make you skinny. you didn't even eat enough to gain a pound. just hop back to it tomorrow and you'll be fine :-)0

One day will not undo all the progress that you've made in two months. It was one day. The previous 60 are far more important.
It is possible, depending on your TDEE and how much sodium you ate, that it could affect your loss this week. Many treat foods (especially restaurant foods) are high in sodium and can make you retain water. Drink some extra water and avoid the scale for a few days. Depending on what your maintenance calories are, you probably ate over them by a bit. If you ate around 3000, then at most you probably ate over your TDEE by 1000, which is less than 1/3 of a pound. Not a huge issue at the end of the day!
Tomorrow is a new day. Just go back to eating your calorie target and working out as you normally would. Even if you have a temporary stall, you can go back to losing again as long as you don't let a one day binge continue throughout the week, month, or year.0 -
Cheat days are good for the soul, I should know as I have one at least once a month whilst trying to lose weight. Every time I had one I learnt something or changed my habits. Where they used to consist of pizza (greasy horrible stuff which I can no longer eat), they now include bread and smoked salmon.
If you are here to lose a lot weight, it may take some time, so the odd day off should not derail your progress. Its also a good way to deal with birthdays, Christmas etc. Don't worry about your day off, just make sure you are back on track tomorrow, and I suggest keeping away from the scales for at least 3 days
Good luck in reaching your goal.0 -

this.............the end, forget the guilt and keep moving forward.0 -
Move forward before one day becomes more than one day, forgive yourself (and forget), drink extra water, and wait a few extra days before you weigh. Every one of us has done the exact same thing. It is what you do next that makes the difference.0

As long as you get right back to it! The scale may go up a little the day after or so, but as long as you get back to your plan and exercise it will come right back off.0
