6-8 meals a day?

Ok so I am trying to figure all this stuff out. One of my friends told me to eat 6-8 small meals a day..Okay so I am fixing to start eating those frozen yoplait smoothies it has two servings so should I eat one serving before working out and the other when I get home. Than should I eat a whole sandwich or split it in half so that it can be considered two meals? Than eat dinner and some veggies or fruits for the last snack. Help I don't understand.

Instead of having that bigger meal at one time, split it up and eat it 2-3 hours apart. A whole sandwich depending on the bread and contents can be 300-500 calories. If you were to go eat out at a restaurant, split the meal up right away when you get it, eat a portion there and eat a portion later at home or lunch the next day.0 -
You could do something like that. The theory is if you eat more often you prevent your insulin levels from getting out of wack. However, you could probably do something like three a 300 calorie breakfast lunch and dinner and two 150 calorie snacks give or take. You kind of have to see what works for you. I was doing this but I have a hard time only eating 300 calories for dinner so I was actually eating too much and I gained weight.
I work at a 911 dispatch center too btw.0 -
I find it helps a lot with my appetite when I break up my meals. I have breakfast in the morning shortly after I wake up, a snack on my morning break at work, lunch, a snack during my afternoon break, dinner, and then sometimes dessert if I still have calories left. (usually not a bad dessert, I like fruit in the evenings)0

I do 5-6 meals a day and you can look at my diary if you want it's public. I keep each relatively close in number and have no huge meal. I'm eating quite a bit right now calorie wise because of alot of calories burnt in exercise, but it's the general idea0
