Not the healthiest, but homemade fish sticks are good (just roll in a bit of flour, an egg and some bread crumbs and bake). We use greek yogurt with a tiny bit of mayo, a bit of lemon juice and some mustard as dip. The whole thing was 415 calories for 6oz of fish, 44g carb and 9g of fat counting the cup of broccoli I had with it.
Baked fish with brown rice, squash or sweet potatoes and veggies.
Roasted chicken with brown rice, squash or sweet potatoes and veggies.
Taco salad - low fat cheese, lettuce, black beans or chickens, salsa, mashed avocado and greek yogurt/fat free sour cream. Or buy low carb tortillas and use that instead.
Chicken curry - chicken bits cooked with curry and fat tree sour cream with brown rice with a salad or veggies on the side.
Chicken salad - I use the same recipe as the fish dip above without the lemon and mix with small pieces of chicken. Serve with a salad (I love olive oil, vinegar and dijon mustard for dressing but you probably don't even need any dressing if you mix the chicken salad in) with tomatoes, cucumbers and whatever else you want to add.
All i can think of right now. I'm not so good at cooking.0 -
What is spaghetti squash?0

Grilled chicken with a baked potato, mango salsa and a rocket (or in US Arugula?) salad (yummy)
Mexican fajitas (just go easy on the cheese, sour cream etc)
Grilled steak with a dressing of lemon juice, dijon mustard, splash of balsamic, olive oil and a dash of honey (great over chicken too)
Sweet potato fries (oven baked) are a healthy alternative for kids that like regular fries!0 -
What is spaghetti squash?
It's a type of squash that when cooked looks similar to spaghetti. Easy to cook (microwave) and fairly yummy.0 -
Fish is always a good low calorie option. Stews and one-pots are also very filling and can be quick and easy. The BBC Good Food website has some great recipes on for dinner... http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/. It tends to be where I find inspiration .
Hope this helps!0 -
A big pot of chili. Make it with mostly veg (onions, peppers, celery, mushrooms & tomato) and very little meat. I use a pound of bison for a huge pot that serves 8. The kids love it and don't even realize how many vegetable they are eating.0

Our 21 yr old son grilled a ton of chicken last night, so tonight I'm making a big salad and adding the cut up grilled chicken, hard boiled egg, and feta cheese fora nice salad0
