Hi all,
Im still quite new to this so still trying to work out whats best for me. Anyway Im 5ft.4 and roughly 123lb, not looking to loose much weight but wanting to loose what I have put on in the last year or so of a junk food diet (have been far too lazy).
I have been eating at 1200 calories per day and eating back exercise calories. Anyway I have just done the updated version of roadmap. My BMR comes out at 1434, if I use lightly active my TDEE = 1972 and after a 20% reduction it is 1578 and I shouldn't eat back any exercise calories.
However seeing them exercise calories is a great motivator for me to get up off my butt!!! And some days I burn 200 calories and others I burn about 500 calories. So can I use the sedentary TDEE of 1721 and after the 20% reduction because I want to loose a little weight it would give me a TDEE of 1397 and I would be able to eat back my exercise calories and still loose weight. I only want to loose around 10lbs as I am not overweight but uncomfortable with the way I am at the moment.
I intend on starting either NROLFW or Stronglifts 5x5, but at the moment I am doing the 30 day shred and Zumba every other day and feel that I shouldn't be doing heavy weights alongside these.
So what do you reckon any advice would be great.

Just change your activity level to moderately active..do TDEE - 15% (you're close to goal and don't need 20%) and then don't eat back exercise calories.
Also, 113 pounds at 5'4 is RATHER LOW..how old are you? Could it be that you NEEDED TO GAIN WEIGHT or are in your early 20s and your body is still developing?0 -
Thanks for your reply, I wish I was still in my twenties but Im 32. Im actually not overly bothered about loosing weight when I started on MFP my whole mind set was loose weight look great! as I didn't know any different but after reading loads of forums it seems to be that lifting weights is the way to change body shape which i suppose is what I really want as I carry my weight on my hips, bum and stomach (like most women I suppose). Like my previous post though Im not sure if lifting weights and doing the 30 day shred is a good idea. I just want someone to guide me in the right direction.0

lifting weights is ALWAYS a great idea! I love it and I've never felt better. Losing weight though shouldn't be your primary goal at your current weight--build some muscle!0
