  • Good morning,

Just having breakfast and getting ready to go to Harpers Ferry for the day...Great place to hike and sight see. It is finally nice enough to get out and enjoy the Shanandoah Valley.

I like TKD for excercise, flexability and discipline. It is good for kids. However from a self defense standpoint i would say there are a lot of better options available.

I tried TKD i actually liked it but it was a nightmare going i'd do it at the back of my daughters TKD class which ment she had to stay behind & then got home late, not good when you get in then have to see to the weeone. My daughter still goes & my son has just started hes 3 lol . Quite lucky that their club does run seminars or classes with self defense thrown in so its all good

there are some schools that offer private lessons and you could set up sessions where you two could go at the same time. If there is a significant age and ability difference between the two of you you could still do this but have two sessions planned at the same time. (assuming the school is the size that would have instructors available)

I should say that only some schools offer this and it is a bit spendy in many cases.

Huge age differences in our 3 ages & i cant do a family class as i have an 8mnth old in tow if i went to our local TKD centre its a monthly fee but can go as many times in the week as we want so once my sons settled in its something im thinking about for very near future ~ but for now my JM BFBM Workout has some kickboxing moves that are very similar to the warm ups for TKD and i really like it lots of kicks and punches
